Starting a mobile car wash/ lite detailing to begin with and i have a few questions..

I am going to be working out of my truck, and would like to keep things simple regarding products/chemicals...

I have so far :

Air compressor

100gal water tank

Shopvac 5.5HP

Buffer

My questions :

Can i go with an electrical pressure washer instead of gas ? And requirements ?

How powerful generator is needed ?

I would like to use only one supplier for chemicals etc : Who should i choose ? What products do i need ( specific ) to keep it simple :

Exterior wash ? Chemicals and mits/towels etc

Interior wipe down ? Chemicals and towels

Wheels/ tires ? Brushes and chemicals

Drying ? Do i use cotton towels or MF...

Again i want to keep it simple on the chemical side !!!

Do you use a chemical when you dry the car, to get the last spots etc ?

I know it was a lot :o(

Blessings to You! It takes more than luck to be a successful detail business. I'll try to answer your questions. Electric pressure washer! I do not like to mix water & electric. I'm a past welder and we hate the combo of water & electric. SHOCKER! Good peak hourse power on the vac. Make sure the access hole is not too small. Will clog up fast with normal pick up. If you do go electric, you haxe to be sure the washer will pull the water from the tank. There are pressure washers that have enough suction to pull with just gravity. I had to install a small utility pump in between.

I have a Coleman Powermate Generator. I use the DC plug to power the pump when I am washing. I have a gas pressure washer. This is my 10th year in business. When I go detailing I carry it all. Heated Extractor by Aztec, pressure washer w/ 50' hose,6 gal.pancake compressor, steamer, cannon for pressure washer,70 gal. of water. I have had the steamer for 3 months. It really saves on the chemicals and time. It's a McCulloh. Look up mobile set ups here. I have some pics of my set up. Do Your homework, learn the best processes, chemicals, and equipment. These are the only corners WE can cut! There's alot of info, chemicals, and HYPE on products and equipment. Remember these companies are in it to make $$$$$$$ off of guys like US! Feel free to hit me up or call. Go to my web sight too. ricswaterlesshine.dwgint.net. I may not hear the phone, equipment running. Let me know how it's going. I'll help all I can. Also go to Autogeekonline.
