Speed Master Tool Rack mini review

Sorry guys I`ve been away for so long (almost a year)!! Between work and school & getting married my life has been a whirlwind.

I have a co-worker that wanted his truck done but was too wide for my garage, I have shelves against the wall, so I did it at his place and was able to use the tool rack.

I won this from Autopia in December and planned on doing a review earlier, but life got in the way. I did do an initial review when opening the box.

So usually when I do a detail I take all my stuff out to the garage and try to organize it as best I can. I always find that I set my polisher down in the most inconspicuous places and spend a lot of time looking for it or other products. I would say about a third of my time is spent looking for products or trying to find a place to set something down. That`s where the tool rack came in, it was so simple to use everything was located in one spot and it was extremely easy to roll around. I love the fact that it has cup holders for my energy drinks. I`m extremely happy with this, and can`t see myself doing a detail without it.

And the finished product.

I wasn`t going to take any pictures, but then I saw this and decided to snap 2 quick ones.

The wife called me a rookie and told me to ALWAYS take before and after photos.

Who makes and what models are the two polisher/buffers on the top shelf of this rack? (Just curious)

Did the two polishers on the top shelf make this rack seem top-heavy? The center post design makes it easy to reach whatever things you have on the shelves, but seems to compromise or give up stability. (You gotta give up something to get something!)
Was the easy to roll around and does it have locking casters?? Its plastic-looking construction would indicate it is light-weight.
Did it seem to be at the right height?? The lowest shelf seems kinda low, but if you sitting are on a rolling chair/stool while detailing, this might not be an issue. The one photo shows it relative to the truck to get some perspective on its height and overall size.

If other Autopians are interested in more info and/or purchasing cart, please see the Autopia Store link:

Both are made by Griots. One is a G15 the other is the 6 inch that modded with a 3 inch backing plate. I felt the 3 inch from Griots was under powered to do any actual correction.

Not at all, its very sturdy

Extremely easy to roll around, & yes it does have two locking casters (when putting it together, make sure you get them on the same side).

It is plastic and the pole in the middle is metal. Very light weight but also solid, if that makes sense. I went mobile, and hate going mobile, but I was able to lift it up by the pole and put it into the bed of my truck with one hand.

When I first received this, I thought "man, this is shorter than I expected" but it turns out that its a good height (about waist high). I really didn`t think about the bottom shelf but now that you mentioned it, it does seem low. Even sitting down on my chair I used the second shelf. I guess the bottom shelf could be for storage of items you only use occasionally. I have some pictures depicting the height when I first got it, I`ll try to dig them up and post them for you.

I guess another question I could go ahead and knock out is "is it worth it for the price?" For me, yes. Now I`m not big on spending large amounts of money especially on a problem I never knew I had but totally worth it FOR ME. Would I have initially bought this, no, but having tried it and seeing how easier it made my life I would definitely spend the $125.

WashRinse....

Any chance you can take a pic of this next to your chair/stool that you use?

Or provide overall dimensions?

Hey sorry, I`m just now seeing this.

Unfortunately, I`m traveling for work and won`t be able to until early next year.

If you still want the info then, I`ll be more than happy to post that.

Man, I`ve been away for a while!! Life got the best of me.

Here`s the items requested. It`s up against the wife`s car, an Acura ILX (for reference). And the seat is adjustable.
Also, it`s about 2 ft with the cup holders on both sides and just over 34 inches tall.

Hope this helps
