So many soap choices now!!!

For me

Poorboys super slick and suds great and economical
Lusso oro. This is a interesting product as it cleans well and makes my traditional LSP (waxes and sealant) last very long.

I also use Gwash on the EXO.

Reset is on the shelf but I have not tried yet. If it brings back the beading on my dd w/EXO I will be amazed.

I use ONR for bird bomb removal and clay lube.

After using and also owning more shampoos than I know what to do with, I have come to a few conclusions.

1. When using a wash media: I haven't noticed a difference in cleaning ability. After all, the pad/mitt is doing the work. (this does not include snow foams or like practices)

2. A lot of shampoos can't be differentiated by lubrication. Some clearly lack though.

3. IronX Snow Foam is a waste of money. Does rinse away nicely though.

4. Adam's old formula Car Shampoo is underrated and their new formula is supposed to be better. I'll see when it gets warmer out.

5. AMMO, Lusso, Victoria, GTechiq, Optimum, Auto Finesse and Adam's are all top notch (actually a lot of shampoos can be in this list). They all mostly act the same and they all rinse away easily-- even at higher than recommend dilutions.

6. Hyper Wash or Optimum would probably be what I used if I was trying to make money.

7. Most of Chemical Guys' shampoos leave a lot of residue behind. Wonder Wash is nice though.

8. PBMG shampoos are good too. So is Gyeon and Garry Dean.

9. I'll get heat for this, but I think CarPro Reset is a tad overrated. Yes it works well, but it's not this new (2014) shampoo that cleans well and also rinses away easily. It does what it's described to do and would recommend it to anyone, but a lot of shampoos do the same thing. It is nice not to interfere with a coating's water behavior though.

10. I've noticed some shampoos that leave residue behind also don't play well with multiple 'drying aides'--if you use one.

11. Aero Suds is terrible.

12. I don't like HD Wash, but Pink Car Soap is nice.

13. Stay Fresh Shampoo Bath is nice, but their reps are so annoying on other forums.

14. Prima Hydro Wash irritates my hands, but works well.

15. I'm sure I'm missing other points and I know I've left out 50+ shampoos but I'd have to look at my notes to remember them all.

Also, most of this is subjective. So keep in mind---> IMO. :)

I like a bunch of soaps...

If I want clean, I go for Ultima Paint Guard Wash. It just seems to clean better and rinses well. The only gripe is my skin feels slightly irritated after use if I do not us gloves.

Adam's seems to leave a nice shine and has generous suds and smells nice. I feel it is much better than the often compared CG Maxi-Suds. There is a version now but have not had a chance to get some.

Poorboys is great for any occasion soap that leaves no added shine.

Meg's Hyper Wash seems to an all around performer: cost, suds, decent smell, cleaning, rinses.

I put DDJ Born to be Mild and AF Lather in a similar class. Nice easy concentrated rinsing soaps.

Optimum is always a favorite for scent, cleaning even at 1/2 the marked concentration (1/2 ounce per gallon), and very generous suds. It works great in a foam gun or cannon if you want foam. It can be a little more difficult to rinse especially when you use a foam cannon but nothing outrageous significant. I may notice this more since i have lower water pressure/flow.

I just stick to my old staple DG902. Cleans well, great price, great suds and just gets the job done !!!

I hate having to pick a car soap, I want to try so many!

Does CG citrus wash red really clean all that much better than any other soap (when used at 1oz/gal)? I need to stock up on soap for the year and was planning on picking up a gallon of citrus wash red since I don't do many maintenance washes and I want something strong. specifically for use in a foam lance since I generally get some pretty dirty cars to work on

Besides that I was probably just going to pickup a gallon of hyper wash. But if I can get away with just one itd be better. But I want something that will break down the really tough grime

I'm afraid to try the Ultima, probably spoil me and I spend enough on shampoos as it is!

I consider shampoo quality to be utterly critical for marring-free maintenance washes. Best detailing change I ever made may very well be when I quit buying cheap shampoos.

Still using my 3.5 : 3.0 mix of Griot's Car Wash : 3D Pink

Same concentrate that I use in the foamguns (usually at their most potent dilution settings) works great for wheels/wells/undercarriage so I mix up several gallons at a time (each being 3.5 oz GG, 3.0 oz 3D, plus enough water to make a gallon).

I don't understand buying small bottles of shampoo...much cheaper in gallons or even 5 gallon buckets when available.

My favorite is definitely Adam's but if the car is coated, I like CG CW&G because it's cheaper and a little more aggressive.

Hyperwash...huh, I've never tried it. The only Meguiar's shampoo I was ever satisfied with is their #62 (though the ?discontinued? #00 had its uses..). That's what I used before Griot's got into the shampoo business in the early '90s.
