Show off your dogs

I can`t get rid of these awful end tables because has treated them like a cage for himself for the past 13 years.
I even make him take the long way around the furniture to get in there.

Forgot about this thread. When my old friends passed this last summer we got a “English cream” Golden retriever as some call them puppy. He climbed on my wife, Jenny’s lap when we got to the farm where him and his brothers were with the Mom and Dad.

Here he was the morning after we got him

Now he’s a crazy giant puppy lol.

jrock645- (Well, of course they`re cute ;) ) Do they interact more with each other or with people?

They definitely wrestle and play with each other a lot. You can’t see in the pics, but Daisy is considerably larger. For a mini dachshund she’s a bruiser. And while she looks like a little fluffy sweet girl(which is what I call her) she’s quite the hell raiser. She actually seems to like everyone she meets. They love her at the vets office. Polly is a very dachshund-y dachshund: she does the trademark head tilt and paw lift, loves to snuggle under a blanket, and has all the dachshund facial expressions. Also typical for dachshunds, she’s a bit choosy about who she warms up to.

I haven’t gotten them out to socialize very much at all. Need to work on that.

jrock645- Yeah, funny how every now and then a dog pops up that simply defies the usual Breed Behavior and loves everybody! Our current female Beauceron is like that, utterly atypical, and thus she too is very popular at the Vet.

And yeah, work on that Socialization :D It really does make a lifelong difference. We`re all about that "100 new people in the first 100 days" whenever we get a new one, with a heavy emphasis on people from other demographics and LOTS of LEOs.

Not a dog - so feel free to ban me. But, I`m adopting this guy this afternoon from a local rescue. Pic doesn`t show it - but he`s huge! 15lbs.

His story is, he was found on the street with an open infected wound. Brought to SPCA & they were going to just put him down cuz of costs. Somehow a cat rescue got involved and got him treatment. That was 6 mos ago and he`s all healed up & ready to go.

Been looking at rescues for a month & somehow knew this guy was for me when I met him and after hearing his story.

This is going to be his brother - my 10 yo Ragdoll, named Buz, I`ve had him since he was a kitten

Swanicyouth- Ah, I just *love* the story behind that big boy, and he`s really well proportioned for a 15lber! How do you think Buz will be with him?

We`re still between cats...we`d have to take the Beauces cat shopping and find one that knows how to put big dogs in their place. And to be honest, I never realized how much time/effort cat ownership took until being without one for a while (well, our last one got pretty high-maintenance in her latter years but she was worth it to us).

Picked up a new foster pup this week. She needs to be vetted and then will go up for adoption. This is our first time fostering a larger dog, let alone a black lab...you literally can`t leave these things out of your site for one second! lol!

She is a cutie though!

Got him home. Buz is def in charge - but Moe (that`s what I`m calling Mr Orange), is younger, bigger, stronger, and faster - so they are compatible for sure. A little growling - but no real fights so far. Moe is such a lover and isn`t afraid of anything. Pic doesn`t really show it - but he`s huge!

Swanicyouth- Ah, sounds great...ya just never know until you get `em together (friend of ours adapts ferals and it sometimes gets, uhm...interesting).

RaskyR1- Ah, good on you for fostering! How long will you have her?

Here`s my boxer named Bandit. Just happy to be free in the backyard

Ah, lush back yard of a dog owner. I`ll take my clover and dirt back yard WITH dogs to a manicured carpet without them any day.

Problem with dogs in dirt is that they bring it in the house and I`m extracting rugs/carpet all the time anyhow. When the leaves aren`t enough to keep the dirt covered, I`m spreading woodchips, and not just a few dozen yards of `em...the current pair of dogs use the *whole* property, aren`t content with just an acre or so like the previous pair were.

I stepped out to the garage to throw some recycle into the been and came back to this. I wasn`t gone 30 seconds.
BTW don`t waste any bandwidth telling me not to put him in a sweater. I have a wife and three daughters and that is just one of many times I`ve been out voted.

Why did it rotate my picture?

The three four legged children that are better behaved than our two, two legged children :o

Patches; White/Black Pitbull mix that I found on the side of the road at what the vet believes was about 5 days old. Tossed in a bag along with 3 siblings, he was one of the two that survived. From about 1lb to his current 70lbs, he`s one of the most loyal dogs I`ve ever seen/owned. My wife`s personal body guard; seriously.

Virginia; Fawn colored Boxer/Lab Mix. Some say Boxadores are a custom breed and that may be so, but we picked her up in southern Ohio for $75 from an older couple in the country that had a Yellow Lab and a Fawn Boxer that one day got bored ^_^ She`s my baby and follows me around like velcro even waiting up late at night for me to go to bed. She too is about 70lbs of muscle and fun spirit. An amazing guard dog, she`s fearless and is always the first one to sternly confront anyone who comes around.

Pugsley; Our newest addition this past Christmas. He`s Virginia`s best friend and a super cute pup and a fast learner. He`s 25% French Bull Dog and 75% Pug. Pictured here at about 9 weeks old and about 7lbs. Projected to be 25-30lbs+, I call him Chubsley as like me, he`s a big foodie :)

So what happens when you make Bacon in our house..........all three sit at attention!

My first house I owned had pretty sandy soil. My 90lb Chesapeake Bay Retreiver/Lab mix created a ledge halfway down the yard where he would run out and hockey-stop each time when we were playing fetch. Between him and his brother, they did a number on the back yard. Fortunately my neighbors were super cool about it not being perfect. I rebooted it back to plush green grass before selling though.

Here are my 4 legged kids- Our “Tall puppy” and the old man.

Addie’s 3/4 Great Dane, 1/4 English Mastiff.
She didn’t end up nearly as big as we were expecting (which is fine by us!) She’s about 100lbs, and could comfortably rest her chin on the counters if she thought that was ok. Her dad was a tank (but suuuper sweet).

Mac is German shorthair/chocolate lab. He turned 13 in December, and only just now seems to be figuring out he’s getting older.
