Review: Wolf's Mean Green Wash & Wipe

Introduction:

No matte product this time. ;)

Bought this one as part of my never ending infatuation with rinseless washes. At the time, my now gone (and missed) 2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT was rocking Wolf's Hard Body and I'd read that HB's goodness was best shown off with other Wolf's products. Naturally, I could not limit my use to that car.

Thanks again to Corey for providing the format.

From Autopia Car Care site - Wolf's Chemicals Mean Green Rinseless Car Wash 1 Liter

"The ecologically friendly way to wash your vehicle!
Advanced rinseless car wash for on the spot washing
Removes dirt and grime without scratching the surface
Easy-to-use formula reduces water consumption

Wolf's Chemicals Mean Green Wash & Wipe is an advanced rinseless car wash formula designed to thoroughly clean your vehicle without the use of a hose or running water! Wolf's Chemicals Mean Green Wash & Wipe is formulated with nano particles that encapsulates dirt and allows it to be wiped away while leaving behind a high-gloss finish. Mean Green does not contain soapy surfactants so it is perfect on all finishes including those which have been treated with Wolf's Chemicals paint coatings!

Water usage and environmental impact are two issues that effect how we care for our cars. Some areas in Europe and the United States have stringent laws regarding water use. Wolf's Chemicals Mean Green Wash & Wipe allows you to safely wash your vehicle with as little as 2 ½ gallons of water! Since there is no longer a need for running water or a hose, you can wash your vehicle anywhere you can take a bucket of water!

Wolf's Chemicals Shine & Seal Nano Sealing Polish, Wolf's Chemicals Hard Body Nano Coating, and Wolf's Chemicals Body Wrap Nano Paint Coating create a slight surface texture that can only be detected under intense magnification. This slight texture is what gives these paint protectants such amazing water and dirt repellency. Using soaps with gloss enhancers will coat over this texture and temporarily reduce its hydrophobic properties. Wolf's Chemicals Mean Green Wash & Wipe is designed with specifically formulated nano particles and gloss enhancers that improve the coating's performance.

Wolf's Chemicals Mean Green Wash & Wipe safely suspends dirt grime in a matrix of nano particles and free-wiping gloss enhancers. You can safely remove the suspended dirt without rinsing, leaving the surface clean. The advanced nano particles and gloss enhancers fortify the performance of existing Wolf's Chemicals paint coatings while leaving behind a brilliant shine. Wolf's Chemicals Mean Green Wash & Wipe is pH neutral so it will work on paints protected with natural waxes and paint sealants.

Preparation:

If car is really dirty, spray off. Also don't like the car to be really hot. You can still rinseless but you have to move faster.

Application:

I use a variation of the GDWM. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJ6AM3UC3QI).

Observations:

Pleasant scent. Cleans very well. Very slick. Leaves beautiful finish. Must leave some kind of protection behind because noticeably improved beading after use.

I use 0.25oz per gallon. This makes is very cost competitive with other rinseless washes. With my application method, I use about 0.5 gallon of solution per wash.

No pics this time. Shiny photos of my Tibby and Sonata have been seen here before.

Does it meet its claims? Yes.

Pros:

1.- Pleasant scent
2.- Cleans well
3.- Beautiful finish
4.- Excellent post-wash beading.

???:

1.- None.

Cons:

1.- For an OCD person like me, measuring 0.25oz is a bit difficult.

Final Observations and Summary:

You can read my Rinseless Roundup (http://www.autopiaforums.com/forums/detailing-product-reviews/40323-rinseless-roundup.html) for my thoughts on the other rinseless washes. I was actually a bit surprised at how good Wolf's Mean Green Wash & Wipe is. Is in my top 2 or 3 of the rinselesses I have tried.

Highly recommended.

Comments and questions are encouraged. Thanks for viewing!

Thanks Ron & Pat.

I normally do wheels with a steamer or pressure washer. You can use rinseless if they are not too bad. If you really are going to handicap me (dirty wheels and no steamer or pressure washer), the I would pre-spray with EcoTouch Wheel Cleaner (a strong waterless) and do my normal tire agitation with rinseless in my tire bucket, drying with MF. Have done this and works well. Just goes faster with the steamer.

Thanks for the review. Do not see much mention of this product. Do you see any "feel" differences than other rinseless products?

Measuring 0.25 oz too hard? You need a chemistry graduated cylinder if you are OCD.!

Nice review Mike.

I believe I will picking some of this up as I just got the entire Wolfs protection line.

Thanks Mike, I'm going to have to give the EcoTouch Wheel Cleaner a try. I've been using an APC and garden sprayer to rinse.

Thanks Ben, Al, and Troy.

No substantial difference. It is more the after that puts it high on my list.

I have tried pediatric syringes. I have more recently moved into a condiment squeeze bottle to make it easier to dispense into my measuring cup.

Yes, I do have issues. ;)
