Review : Teflon Tire Shine

COME AT ME BRO
Okay guys, I will try and do a decent review of this product. Here goes...

Purchased this on Tuesday, used it Tuesday night after washing wheels & tires with Simple Green:Water (50:50). It came in a 22 oz. spray bottle and the directions were to spray on and walk away. Directions also state not to get this on the tread of the tire (just throwing that out there...I knew not to do that). Very well packaged, appealing to the eye, and the spray mechanism works great. The product is a milky white. It's not very thick and I didn't really notice any sort of aroma.

I wanted to see the difference between spraying on and leaving alone(1), spraying on and buffing after 30 minutes(2), and spraying on a tire swipe and applying(3).

(1) The sprayer shoots a pretty good mist and I was able to cover the entire tire with about three or four shots (BF Goodrich All Terrain TA's 265/75/16). The product seemed to soak in slowly. It looked splotchy for quite some time. After about 90 minutes it was pretty well soaked in and left a relatively high shine. The next morning, not splotchiness whatsoever was left and the tire looked AWESOME.

(2) Almost the same as just spraying on, this took care of the splotchy issue but it also cut down a little bit on the high sheen as well. Overall, it looked good, but not as good as just spraying on.

(3) This method is quite difficult because of the tires I have. They are "luggy" on the outside 1/4 of the tire, so it's kinda hard to get even coverage on the tire. Overall, this left a more matte finish, which looked decent.

Overall, I think the best method is to spray on and leave alone if you have the time. If not, let it sit for a few and buff to remove excess.

Which brings me to my next topic....the dreaded SLING. Guess what...there isn't any! Imagine my surprise after a (ahem) 70mph drive to work not to have any sling on my paint! I was ecstatic. No sling! This is one of the first tire dressings I have ever used that actually met the claim of "no sling!"

Finally, the Teflon Tire Shine cost me 6.99 for 22 oz. at Advance. That's around the range of the other tire dressing available over the counter.

I would give this product a grade of A-. The only drawback is that the best looking results came from the messiest form of application. I did have to wipe overspray off my wheels. Not too bad. I say give it a try!!

Sorry for not having any pics. My mom is the one with a digital camera and I'm not there, so I guess you'll all have to take my word for it!! :)

Jared,

Thank you for your review. Is this stuff white and milky? Thin? Thick? Clear? Yelllowish? Sounds like something to take a look at.

Oops, forgot that. I added it anyway, but it's a milky looking. Not very thick. I would say the consistency of Armor All or something along those lines.
