Im not sure where to post this, so i just posted here. I just recently pick up a hood from a friend of mine with heavy to light spots of white spray paint. I thought it would be a good idea to wet sand it out. Now im left with swirls marks. What do i do now? I did use the search, but didnt really come up with an answer. I think im suppose to just use some polish and polish it out, right? Sorry, Im a noob and just happen to find this site...:buffing:

Yeah you'll need to polish the panel (or area thereof out). The polish you choose (Light, Medium, Heavy) Cut will depend on what grit sandpaper you ended (stopped) with.

If you only used 15K or finer then a Light Cut Polish will do. You'll need a machine (PC, or Rotary, some pads, etc) but I'm sure you thought of these items before starting down this road.

Sounds like you could have saved a whole lot of work by just trying a light solvent 1st. It will easily wipe off spray paint. Live and learn.
