Rasky's Auto Detailing: Black 2007 Cadillac DTS

Rasky's Auto Detailing
2007 Cadillac DTS 48,XXX miles...my sisters car :D

She bought the car used so the neglect in the paint is not all from her. She only wanted the interior cleaned but since I had the car all weekend I thought I'd be a nice guy and 2-step the exterior...baaaad idea!

This car has had several panels repainted, and they did not appear to all be done to the same time, based on paint texture. She also has an unlimited wash package at a locus full service wash, which she uses at least once a week. She has never waxed the car before but after washing it there was evidence of some sort of protection....whatever it was it made buffing a PITA (some rainX crap she said the offer with the upgraded wash)! The car was also covered in fine black over spray, and the roof had some larger gray specs too.

Please keep in mind I was only getting paid to do the interior on this one so some of the extra things I do on a full detail may have been skipped ;)

One of the repainted panels had a texture that did not match the rest of the car and looked pretty bad, I gave it a quick wet sand to better match the factory finish. Megs 1500 followed by 3000.

I had a lot of issues buffing on this one for a few reasons...The repainted panels acted differently and paint was micro marring of some of them, My M105 seemed to have gone bad and had become very runny. I had lots of issues with it gumming up which could be a result of the M105, or whatever paint protection crap that was still on the paint from the local car wash.

(before anyone asks, I'm on my 3rd gallon of M105 and I know what the consistency is supposed to be like. This was the DA version and had about a half gallon left. It was fine two weeks ago)

Thanks for looking,
Rasky

Much better, was she happy?

Thanks!

She was very happy. But now she's afraid to take it back to the full service wash. It's a tunnel wash with the cloth mops on spindles. Since she bought the car used I have now idea how much damage the place is doing. I told her I'd show her how to hand wash but I know she will get sick of doing it. :D

Car looks great! There is something about that car that i have always loved. Your sister is lucky to have such a good brother!

Wow! Great Job Rasky, I would of thought that car belonged to a pimp, but i didn't see any dice in the mirror. LOL

Looks good.
It will probably pay off big. The good will.........

Sure she will tell her friends.

LOL! I drove it around for a few days and felt like a pimp myself! :D

Thank you. I've already done most of her girl friends cars and even lined up a few new jobs too. ;)

Is that not a good reason to bring it to you for a wash? With those wheels & tires I would say that the "Cadillac ride" is gone forever.
