QUestion on Klasse Sealant

I just ordered the Ultimate Detailing Machine along with Klasse All-in-One and Klasse Sealant Glaze.

I read somewhere here that I before I put the sealant onto my bonnet that I should dampen the bonnet with a Sonus product, either the acrylic spritz or the glanz spritz.

It's onlt $12, but I'd rther save the money after all I've spent here today. Can't I just moisten the bonnet with water or some general, retail detail spray?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I wouldn't know why not, but I'm brand new to all of this. I'm grateful for this site. I've got alot to learn still.

I often wonder why people, especially noobs, continue to purchase the AIO/KSG combo. I've always heard that KSG is difficult to use correctly. With that being said, IMO, there are so many products on the market with easier application, equal durability and superior appearance.

I just find it odd that every noob shows-up talking about Klasse products. I hoope you enjoy your new supplies and machine. Welcome to the addiction.

It's a right of passage of sorts for Noobs to use Klasse to start out - which is not such a bad thing IMO. I did it myself before moving on to other products (Duragloss, Zaino, Werkstatt, etc.).

Klasse is not a bad product at all and if a noob can master applying and removing KSG, then all products they use thereafter will seem like a breeze by comparison.

Also, if everybody starts out detailing with Klasse, then we all have common basis of comparision for other products.

Thanks. So, I've been snookered by the hype around Klasse?

I'll report back on how it works.

You've got me nervous.

Klasse isn't bad, if it were I'd quit using it on the MPV. That said, no, it's not the end-all of products either. But man is it durable when you layer it.

My main gripe about the Klasse twins is that they require a basically flawless prep job.

To the point of the OP's question, no you don't need to dampen the applicator with anything like water or a QD. I never have *anything* on my foam applicator except for the KSG.

Put it on so thin you can't easily see it on the paint.

I started on the twins myself, which brought me here, I still use both of them to this day. I do hope to try JW products soon though. I never did mind the app of Klasse :nervous:

I use the klasses twins myself and like the results sure they are a tad hard to learn how to use ,but to me now it's game between sg and me to see who wins each round. I try different ways of using to see how one works over the other but i still seem to get good results but it true to put it on thin and do 2x3x times for best result and it last rather long .

Nothing at all wrong with the Klasse twins. I wouldnt use any machine for the SG though.. Could become a nightmare removal if you apply too much.

I got the package deal about a year ago with the PC and Klasse AIO and SG (which to answer the previous post, is why a lot of people start with it). Great advice in this thread, just put on the SG thin and no worries. I was so scared I would be rubbing off SG for hours, but it was fine. I also mixed up some SG in a spray bottle with water 4:1 and spritz some of that on after washes occasionally. Seems to extend the gloss and wetness.

All that being said, when my Klasse runs out, I probably will go Werkstatt.

I'll try that.

I also think I'l be doing the tighter places by hand. My Infiniti has badges out the wazoo on the read of the car. I - N - F - I - N - I - T - I below the logo plus the G35S. Not much room for the 5" pad to work.

The rockers panels are also a bit weird. I'll try the Ultimate Detailing machine, but it may require application by hand. I can't bring myself to describe it as a "hand job." :chuckle:

And like alot of "noobs," I had to learn that the hard way.

Hehe, don't take it so hard. I was in your exact situation too. I came on here and researched a lot of stuff. Came to the conclusion to buy the Klasse twins. Then found out about ALL this other great stuff. I still have my 2 bottles and their still pretty useful, I just don't know when I'll ever finish using them. I'll either use them on other people's car for paint, or specific areas on my own. I'll use KAIO on my windshields and KAIO+KSG on my wheels.

Learn something new everyday. I'd never thought about sealing my wheels.

Multiple layers of KSG, cleaned with a slightly stronger-than-normal shampoo mix, will last a long, long time. Sealed wheels clean up pretty easily too. But it pays to *not* let 'em get too dirty. If they get too bad between cleanings they'll require some aggressive clean-up, which will compromise the KSG.

Oh, and a quick spritz of a leaves-stuff-behind QD (I use FK 425) helps too, I do it after every wash.
