Hi guys,
Cobra Cross Groove™ 6.5 Inch Flex Foam Buffing Pads, cobra foam polishing pads, foam buffer pads, dual action pads, cross groove pads, waffle pads
So... I bought three of these foam pads from Autogeek to try them out. I bought the white one for polishing.
Why did I buy them? I just have the habbit of buying different products to try out on my cars. I have used this product with SwirlX, Ultimate Compound, and M205, on either the rotary or the DA XP.
While using these pads, I realize that they skip and jump like crazy. Unlike the flat pads, these pads don't stay planted to the vehicle's surface. They are a pain to work with on a completely flat panel. In order to keep these pads from skipping and jumping across the body panel, I had to apply roughly 25-40lbs of pressure on the pad. And Putting that much pressure onto the pad is not a solution because doing so would simply defeat the purpose of the refining polishing procss, as well as induce fatigue. Needless to say, the skipping is caused by the grooved sections.
So did I just waste $35 on these pads? I don't know if there is a proper method to using this pad, but I can't think of any other ways to use them. These pads are utterly unuseable and I am not impressed with them.
