Portable Misting Fan

I just bought a small battery powered misting fan. I thought this might be something useful while detailing in the summer. Also for use on the patio or anywhere you go. I have not used it yet. I just turned it on today to see how it worked.

It operates on a lithium battery that looks like the ones that fit in a cordless drill. I bought this a HD. Two speed fan; the high speed pushes a decent amount of air, but to a narrow zone as the fan has a small circumference. The mist is a fair amount. It might make it difficult if it is aimed at the car.

The best thing is the portability. You could take it to the park or a kids ball game.

Subscribe, would love updates on run time on high low and how well it works in shade or in the direct sunlight. could use on my boat when fishing ever advantage you can get in a tourney staying comfortable helps. I have 2 propane Buddy heaters I use for early and late in the year when its bitterly cold the laugh at me in the morning by the end of the day they all beg to use it to warm up there hands that are numb.

I hope it works for you. At the Marina restaurants down here that are outside they use HUGE misting fans to cool down the customers. I question what how well that little one will work, especially battery powered. Keep us informed.

I tried it briefly. It has decent air flow but the range is so small. It also made a huge wet spot on the garage flow. I had outside the garage pointed in. I didn't run too long. My wife took it with her today as she was prepping a house for an estate sale and had to do much work in a hot garage. She said it ran from about 9:30 to to maybe noon. The instructions say the battery will last longer if the unit is hooked to a garden hose. She too said it is a very narrow area of air so you have to be right in front of it and it made the floor wet.

It actually might work well on a boat! It would be better if you could plug it in without relying on the battery.

I will try it some more and update later

I bought a medium size one for our back porch a while back. It absolutely soaked your ass down. The monstrous ones I've seen at the marina restaurants (likely very expensive) just made you feel cool without getting wet. There were at least a dozen and they were 12' high.
