i have chrome stock wheels on my truck and i was wondering what would be a good polish and should i wax/seal the wheels? i was planning on using menzerna fp2 then upp, would it be ok to use those same products on the wheels after they are clean?

I'm not sure how much help I am since I haven't tried FP2 or UPP (I definitely plan on it though), but I have used both Nev-r-dull and PB ProPolish in the past and liked the results from both for a polish, although I prefer the polish....as far as wax I use PB Wheel Wax and absolutely love it, but I've used Natty's in the past as well and know of people using UPP aswell as other waxes with great results.

....short answer: Yes, you can use those products and they should be great!

I'm no expert on the subject, but I think that unless you have scratches on the wheels there's no need to use an abrasive polish like FPII. You should definitely seal the wheels after polishing, and UPP should be fine. A couple of products that chemically polish and also seal the wheels are Mothers Chrome Polish and KAIO. You could use those to polish/protect and then UPP to add considerably more protection. For awhile after that all you should need is soap and water to clean the wheels.

Edit--forgot about Nevr-dull. It's a good aluminum polish, but I find that it leaves a lot of streaking on chrome.

I use either KAIO or PB PP to prep, then top with 2 or 3 layers of DP Spray Sheild Sealant. Each washing the dirt comes off pretty easily and has a nice brilliant shine. About every 3 to 4 weeks I add another 2 or 3 layers.

Whoops, Sherman8r44's right, I forgot FP2 was an abrasive as opposed to the polish I use. I would definitely stick to a chemical polish for the chrome and then any of the toppers mentioned to really bring out the shine.

I Have Used KAIO, PBs Pro Polish with PBs wheel wax and use a spray wax after your weekly wash to maintin'em..

Mothers FX Spray Wax is great for maintenance of the sealed wheels. After cleaning with soap/water/mitt or brush and rinsing, spray it on the wet wheel and dry as normal.

Bumpity Bump!

I know I seem to be the only guy around here usuing Parts Store products...

-Hit the wheels with Windex after they're cleaned
-Turtle Wax Chrome Polish
-Wax.

I use WheelWax on my Dayton wire wheels. They say it reverses the polarity on the wheels so the brake dust does not set in on the wheel surface. I don't know about all that but I can clean the wheels much easier than befor I started using it.
