A couple of days ago I had the privilege of testing out this wax that I won here at autopia forums a couple months ago.
I decided to use it on a black Lexus one of my clients drive. Pinnacle Signature Series Wax is known for deepening darker colors, while giving it that rich liquidy shine. I could only imagine how much better the Signature Series II would be...
My target...
A 2010 Lexus IS250. Keep in mind I did do a lot of prep work on it before hand, this car had water spots and was in really bad shape. The owner had it parked by sprinklers for the longest time so just bare with me here.
I stripped all the wax off first, clayed with Mothers California Gold Clay, Compounded the bad areas, the hood, the roof, the trunk with Meguires Ultimate Compound, then polished the whole car with Megs D151...
The Wax...
Had a nice warm glow, they say it has Ivory Carnauba in it, which is supposed to be one of the finest quality nubas you can get. It had a nice fruity scent, not sure what it was but I would say some kind of tropical smell...
Application...
If you can see the swirls in the picture. The wax went on very smooth with a foam pad, it reminded me a lot of max wax the way it went on. Very buttery and a little went a long way...
I let the wax sit for about 15 minutes till it became a light grey haze...
Buffing it off was extremely easy with no streaks what so ever, but I did however, notice that some parts kinda 'stuck' on and required just a little more effort to get off.
Pulled car out into sunlight to get a better glimpse...
It was a little hard to get clear shots of the reflections with the sun out the way it was so just bare with me here...
With tire dressing...
A refection shot...
All and all, I think this is an awesome wax. The paint had a somewhat darkened appearance after I had used it, and had a nice glassy reflective shine after it was done. It also had a nice slickness to the touch, even after all the prep work was done on it, there was a really nice slickness factor added to it. I really cannot think of anything I didn't like about the wax, maybe the price is a little steep, and you can't work with it out in the sun, but besides that, Pinnacle has always been a reputable company as far as their waxes go, so I wouldn't mind dishing out a little extra every now and then for some quality carnauba such as this. :bigups
