Paint Correction - 2007 Black Bentley

David Fermani

Forza Auto Salon
I thought I'd post some before and after pictures of a minor paint correction on a 2007 Bentley Continental Flying Spur. The car had roughly 3000 miles, is garage kept and has developed a moderate case of wash induced marring from having very soft paint. Unfortunately, the car was detailed during all day on and off rain with very high humidity. The worst recipe for black cars! The car itself is roughly $200,000++, has a 550 HP turbocharged 6.0 W12 engine and is hand built. I'd like to thank Lightman for the personal referral and hopefully I will be allowed the honor to continue maintaining it for his close friend. I currently only detail on occasion and have a select few clients that I do work for.

Awesome work David, i got the same car across the street from me and i can't wait for the owner let me do his car. Also his wife drives one too!

Modern Bentley paint is one of the best I have worked on. Their paint process is one of the best in the industry i hear.

Why no wool David? Is it because of the soft paint?

Jim

Wool is the last thing I'd want to try on this soft paint. :soscared: With soft paint, you can really work the finish well with a cutting foam pad. If it was a Vette, I'd try wool, but not needed for this one. Plus foam creates really nice heat that helps on soft paint too. I have a feeling this car needs alot of oils to stay looking good, so regular maintainence is mandatory. With soft paint I feel a product with more filling properties will be better than regular cutting of the finish to correct defects. Much safer and better for the finish in the long run.
