I'm looking for something i can grab locally for a mild degreaser, something that wont etch or mark alum and metals under the hood, simple green i don't know if i like that one i think i had problems with that before, any thoughts??

I "really" was impressed by the Surf City Grime Destroyer product. It's clingy and REALLY gets rid of the grease and grime. I spray it, work it with a brush, and rinse. Works like a charm. Incredible for an OTC product.

Purple power works (I bought a gallon) but it smells awful and is kinda caustic. I have my tools soaking in a solution of it right now. Even cut 10:1 that stuff hazed my clearcoat something awful.

Interesting, I use it for everything and have not had any problems so far:nixweiss works great

I cut some 10:1 for APC use. Sprayed some on the door sills and jambs to clean them up. Wiped it off and noticed my clear was hazy. Put some QD on them and it did nothing. Tryed some IPA and that did nothing. Did a hand application of Megs UC, and that cleaned up the problem.

So no more Purple Power for me! I've got some Megs APC+ being shipped right now.

thanks guy's, was looking at Purple power and they(wally-world) had some orange stuff too can't think of the name off hand, but unsure now what to get.

where can one find Surf City Grime Destroyer product besides the web?

Humm.... I will have to look out for this... So far I have no complainants, but maybe I should just use PP for rims/tires and purchase Megs APC….

Surf City has been advertising they are available at AutoZone and similar stores. I got mine at the local Pep Boys. Check their webpage at surfcity.com. Maybe the have some info as to where you can find it near you.

Good to see a fimilare name,,LOL..he's something else yes. no my PM box is now on i had a setting wrong. :o

I use orange blast... Full crank on the engines and wheel wells. It does haze up the aluminum a bit but not like a caustic (phosphate based) cleaner will. It works well and your engine smells orangey fresh for a few days!

K thanks...:bigups

Just recently started using it, works great for wheels, tires, interior, and engine. They also have a heavier duty type degreaser but I have not tried that.
