Optimum Car Wash in foam cannon

Bunky

Detailing Gnosis
I finally tried out my Camspray foam cannon with my pressure washer. For my initial use I chose Optimum Car Wash since I consider it on the higher end of foaming soaps. This is the first type I have used any foam cannon with my pressure washer.

Pressure Washer: Kranzle 1120T (full power: 1400 psi)

Foam Cannon: Camspray with adapter

Soap: Optimum Car Wash ~10:1 (1.5 oz to 16 oz water)

Notes:
1. Produced fairly thick suds. 1400 psi seemed plenty, suds slowly dripped down

2. Camspray reservior is too small (enough for two cars max) compared to others on the market for the price. If I had known it was that small I would not have purchased it but 0.75 oz per car to foam is not bad. The camspray has an adjustable knob that controls the stream and the front nozzle rotates as well to adjust foam amount. I had it on best foam pattern.

3. Optimum soap did not rinse off as well as I would have thought even with the pressure washer..very sticky to paint

Al, is this product normally used with a foam cannon or is there any mention of cautions at all?

I'm a bit concerned about its lack of complete rinsing and how this could affect the next step(s) in the process....

Thanks for the review! :bigups

I do not know what you mean by cautions. I have used Optimum in a foam gun many times and it has always been a really sudsy soap.

I just made the comment about difficulty to rinse to get feedback from others on Optimum and other soaps. It came off but just more difficult than rinsing normally. It could have been I used too much soap. Optimum is a great sudser. The stickiness would be an attribute for staying power. For stripping, I know CG Citrus wash and gloss is mentioned but I like it on my wheels. The idea is leaves something behind after wanting to strip seems counter productive (maybe theoretically).

The fact that it only took 0.75 ounces of soap to get that is actually quite impressive. I was able to coat the car and then play around more (enough for a second car) with just 1.5 ounces of soap.

I see what you mean....

I didn't know if this was a new soap and possibly not well suited for a foam canon and maybe some words to that on the label....

As long as it works and will rinse clean is what's important....:bigups

Nicely done Al. I like the way the soap clings.

But I will agree that this was my findings and problems with Optimum Car Soap. It had a great scent and cleaned well, but it never seemed to want to rinse cleanly.

Nice review. Thanks for sharing Bunky.

Optimum wash, foam cannon, and a pressure washer are on my wish list. haha
