OK "pros" - what are your recommendations for a dark, deep, wet, glossy (not shiny) looking black car?!

OK "pros" - what are your recommendations for a dark, deep, wet, glossy (not sterile and shiny) looking black car?!

Assuming that the black paint is in great condition - which products would YOU recommend?

<---- not a pro

(but I did stay at holiday inn express)

Same here :D

But FWIW, I`d lean towards a wax, though some sealants are awfully carnauba-like in their appearance.

I`m not even remotely up-to-date on today`s LSPs, but I`d be considering:
Looks- Souveran
OTC w/decent looks- Meguiar`s M26
Durability and decent looks- Collinite 915
Wax-like sealant- BlackFire or UPP

And I bet some coatings look pretty good on black too.

<- just a backyard detailer, not a pro by any standard.... actually... pro product buyer... LOL

I mostly just put WGDPS on all cars, but I saw on a youtube video, and it for the first time made me want to buy a wax for outrageous money... Chemical Guys Celeste Dettaglio would be something to consider. The video actually showed that it does bring the shade one notch darker. I`d like to know if there are any other wax that can do the same, or better, but I couldn`t find anything.

This is the video that give me this deep desire to buy that wax. lol I wonder if ACC can get that wax.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJAVeonVmHU

Have you seen the car yet? and are you going to doing any machine time?

Assuming the paint has been polished to "perfection"....

Metallic Black: Wolfgang Fuzion wax.
Jet Black: Poorboy`s Natty`s Blue or Black.

That being said, the polish work has more to do with the appearance, than the wax on top (IMHO) for black paint. Black can be the most difficult to get to look "perfect".
Hence, my official answer to your question: Patience. Patience looks best.

Enjoy the obsession!

what is the difference between glossy and shiny?
Hmmm, how do I explain this...

I guess a glossy black is one that when you walk up to it it looks like there is piece of clear glass over the car... like you are looking into a glass mirror with a black background instead of a silver one and can see yourself, etc. exactly the way you would if looking into a mirror... deep, has a lot of depth, dark, wet looking...

I guess a shiny black car is one where it is reflecting so much light that you have to squint when you look at it...?

Does that make any sense?

For starter`s the answer to me is there is no “best” for black paint IMO. There are many different types of paint, different shades of black paint and also many different products out there…not to mention that anyone definition of deep, Glossy and shiny will vary from one person to another person. Any approach will work in some way or another, it will be the paint ( Soft or Hard ), condition and the amount of time you going to put into it. Many products will work Like Blackfire, Pinnacle, Duragloss, Meguiars, and many others in the Car Care Store.

Here`s one system that works very well if you need to do some work:

The car`s paint is in very good condition - I will just be maintaining it.

I`d recommend:

black ice over wet diamond all finish paint protectant
or black ice over bf gloss enhancing polish

or nattys black over black hole (topped with nattys blue)

I paint more than I detail anymore so in my experience is that with black having a perfectly flat surface that is polished to perfection is key. Most people aren`t going to wet sand and buff their cars to perfection so the latter will be the most important. Polish it to perfection and then do your sealant/wax or whatever you want. This was the last black truck that I did. The paint is fresh so there is no wax or sealant on it. Just the paint itself.

I`m a fan of blackfire combos as well and polo if you wanna come by my shop in the summer when I might be slower shoot me a pm

I`ve got several different waxes and sealants you can try out

Couple questions, is this a DD year round or just in nice weather, or is this a gq?
