Hi there!

Im new in here, and have been polishing a couble of years, without having any real knowledge.

Been using Megs. Pro Machine Glaze ( M3 ?), Show Car Glaze ( M6 ?) polish and Hi-Tech paste ( M26 ?) wax as sealant..

Getting great results with my DA, but now i want the swirls gone.

Now, what i need is some advice about what pads to use with M4 Heavy Cut Cleaner? I ordered it yesterday, along with:

Cyclo Premium White Foam Pad

Cyclo Premium Orange Foam Pad

Cyclo Premium Yellow Cutting Pad

Cyclo Premium Yellow Scrubbing Pad

What should i use with the different pads given the polishes i have mentioned?

Is Cutting Pad + Cutting Compound - overkill?

Im doing my gf's mothers swirly '01 X-Trail this weekend.

Id appreciate ANY advice here!

:welcome to Autopia, Tor-Lein!

Meg’s M04 is intended for use with a rotary buffer, not a DA. More often than not you’d expect to use it with a wool pad but you can use foam cutting pads too.

M04 uses diminishing abrasives and can finish down surprisingly well for a heavy cut product. But in most cases you’d follow it up with a lighter cut product for the final finish.

If you plan on using a DA for heavy cutting you should look into Meg’s M105.

pc.

Thanks for the advice!

I ended up with PB's SSR3 and the pads mentioned.

I wasn't pleased with the result, at least not regarding to holograms.

I used a slow dual headed DA polisher, it just took too long, and could not get enough rpm's.

The car got very shiny and nice, but in direct sunlight i can see some small holograms.

Ill do it over again when i get my PC!

Used SSR3, Megs Fine-Cut Cleaner and Megs Hi-Tech Yellow wax.

The car was neglected in the first place, so mother in-law was happy.

Keep 'em happy!

Ill add some photos later.
