Hello All,
I have been lurking in 'Detail' website/forums for awhile now and came across Detail City as my first to join(4/09).
Its VERY informative and seem to have many 'PROs' that are in the business!

Sorry it took so long to finally login and say 'Hi'..
I've been collecting information, products, equipment, registrations, license and lots and lots of practicing!!!

I have finally booked a few 'official' customers that all work at the same place
and park in a 4-5 level garage and will begin to service thier cars at thier home.
I do have a question for you mobile guys though.. This garage does have a Detail Station
on the top floor of the garage..
I was wondering if I can service my customers even though they are there..??

Thanks again to all the 'PROs' that made it possible
for us little guys to learn to do things properly!!!

Hey! Welcome to DC.

Another Floridian. We are catching up!

So what your asking is if you are justified in taking business from people who park in a garage where detailing is being done? If I have that right then I would say all is fair in love and business.

Unless the company these people work for is under some sort of weird contract that would require their employees to use these guys (which would be impossible to enforce and highly unlikely), then I would say you are doing nothing wrong.

The fact that these people are willing to forego the convenience of using these guys says and go with you instead should say something either about you or them.

Thanks to All for the welcome!!

Troy to answer you.. I would'nt say I TOOK thier business cause the detail center has been at that location for a long time..
none of the customers that chose me have ever used them..I'm sure they have seen many of thier completed work(I have not).
This garage is shared by many many other offices and a building of 6 floors..
All I did was detail a family members vehicle..she showed a coworker and long story short, talked to 4 people and booked 6 vehicles!!:D

Again thanks to all on this forum..:rockon
I'll try and do as others and log pic's and progress...

My only suggestion would be to check with the garage owner if you want to also operate your services in his garage. He may have an agreement with the current detailer for a percentage of gross receipts and if someon new comes in he is potentially out some revenue.

If you are simply looking to recruit business to be offered at some other location go for it!

It sounds from your description you are the latter operation.

Welcome to the City.

Pander5 thanks..that was my next move.. during the time I detail the customers cars at thier home
I was gonna contact the garage owner and see what kind of contract(if any) the detail shop has in place and go from there..
but I do eventually(ideally) would like to knock out the 4 customers in 1 location..
and I dont want any problems with anyone..!!
