Needed Items for a Mobile Wash Unit

I am wanting to make my own mobile wash unit to place in the back of my truck. Can you utilize a regular power washer and hook it up directly to a water tank? Or do you have to have some sort of water pump in between to get the water to flow from the tank to the power washer? Probably a stupid question but I am unclear of the equipment that is necessary to set up a mobile wash unit to make it work efficiently. Any help would be appreciated.
 
No need for a pump as long as you don't restrict water flow. Gravity is sufficiant.

I have heard some people have problems with not getting enough pressure with just the gravity. Obviously the mobile water pressure's are better but I was hoping that some have had success with hooking up a cheaper pressure washer to a water tank. They say the portable pressure washers sometimes have a harder time than the belt driven washers to pump static water.
 
Over the years I have used the cheap electric ones up to a 13H 4gpm one. They all were gravity fed.

Just raise the tank a couple of inches so the hose aims down toward the pressure washer. Don't put any filters or hose connectors that restrict water flow. You will be fine.
 
I went Home Depot and got a sprinker pump. I run on 110v and I just plug in my gen and it gose through a sportless water sys and through a 1800psi pressure washer. Been using it for four years without any problems. I think I paid $130.00 for it. Just be sure it has a steel housing. The plastic would not hold up.
 
I used to have a 500 gallon tank that gravity fed 2 high pressure washers. I never had a problem and can't imagine why you would.
