so, the other day i decided to treat all my exterior window surfaces with rainx. i started by cleaning the outside of the windows with invisible glass and paper towel. they were super clean. i didn't worry about the paper towel lint, it was kinda windy, it blew away. then i took my rainx, shook it up, and applied it on thick, with a paper towel. i did this outside in direct sunlight. i did all the windows and the mirrors even. now comes the bad part. i decided to let it haze for a little longer because i applied it so thick. i spent a good 10 mins inside my car dusting everything.
then i step outside and tried to remove the haze. well, it didn't want to come off. i tried taking it off with paper towel, wet paper towel, microfiber cloths, and wet microfiber cloths...dry microfiber seemed to work the best, but it would have taken like 5 hours to get every spot, it was alot of work! it looked so bad on the factory tinted glass. so then i tried something i probably shouldn't have, i sprayed invisible glass on a paper towel and tried that. it got it off with no problem. haze was gone. i thought, man, i spent all that time and i wasted it.
however, i drove today in some light rain, i've never seen the rain fly off my windshield like that before! it was almost putting me in a trance from it's wierd upward movement. then it snowed and iced up today, that came off, no problem!
i need tips on how to make this experience easier. i love rainx. i'm guessing i shouldn't have applied it in direct sunlight and i shouldn't have waited so long with the haze and i shouldn't use paper towels. whats the benefit of newspaper?
thanks guys, this board is awesome
