my Nufinish review...scratch remover...

saw this at PepBoys and its guaranteed or take it back to the store for a full refund. I figured I'd try it because no one else here would. First it claims to be a micro polish and upon application it doesn't feel gritty at all. I used it on a couple deep scratches and it didn't remove them-just improved them (in all honesty i wasn't expecting a miracle product). I have 3m scratch remover and in comparison it is much more gritty and leaves a very slight haze(by hand) and tho it will remove 1500 grit sanding marks it didn't remove these deep scratches either. In all honesty I don't consider the Nufinish to be a true scratch remover but it very well could be the best OTC product for removing micromarring and light swirls by hand. I do plan on doing more testing in the future with this product. BTW by its looks I'm guessing its a water based product but i don't have a MSDS sheet to know for sure.

Reminds me of Scratch X. The description is similar and it seems to work in a similar way.

I used Scratch X for the first time on my car and it worked well on small micro scratches. One scratch on my bumper was deep enough to put my fingernail in but not down to the primer. It didn't take it away but made it a lot less noticeable. Small scuffs and surface nicks it eliminated without marring the finish at all. I've used the 3M SMR and it's dulled the paint. Scratch X did not.

i feel the need to update this post-the micro polish although very fine doesn't seem as if it breaks down. The paint surface looks great in the sunlight but under floodlights at night i can see ultra fine micromarring-if you use this product you should at least follow up with a mild sirl mark remover with diminishing abrasives. At this point my conclusion is that there are better products available and that for the price of $9 your better off passing on this one.
