You know I first met Sean about two weeks ago for the first time when he wanted some HD/3D products. Long story short I was in his area and thought that it would be cool to meet him in person so instead of him coming to pick the products up. Myself and Scott hand delivered the items to his work. For those of you who don't know Sean he is a 14 year vetern of the United States Army. He served all over Irag helping fellow soldiers while in a transportaion unit. About three years ago he got into detailing as an enthusiest. Today Sean spends many hours as an E.M.T with a local Ambulance crew here in my area. Like myself I'm sure you all seen his posts about him spending downtime at his work polishing the Rigs, or as we call them Ambulances. This guy is a true hero. Served our nation in time of need and now dedicates his life to saving others. We often forget about small people like him. In the news these days all we here about is tradigies, politics, and celebrities. We never here about the local guys who dedicate there lives to helping others.

When I first met Sean I was schocked when he told me the he buys his products and polishes the local ambulances with no gain or reimbursement. Then as the conversation grew he talked about his ford focus and how it needed a bath! Ok I'll be honest it needed a little more. At that moment I thought it would be geat if someone would lend this hero a helping hand, so I said "you know what Sean. Whenever your ready to polish you car, I'll be there for ya. So today was that day. It was about 100 degree's here in PA and Sean and I had some fun.

Here is a photo taken two weeks ago when I met Sean.

So once we got the car washed and degreased, I gave Sean a few pointers. Here we are geting the polishers spinning! :buffing: Sean was as open minded as they come and learned fast!

He was having a blast polishing. Look at the deep reflections he got from the roof! You could see the military attention to detail as he was polishing.

Here is Sean and I going at it together! Laying down the final polish.

Once we wraped things up Sean pulled the car outside and began to inspect the paint. It was crisp clear reflections with perfect sun shots!

All the hard work paid off as we took the final shot of Seans Ford Focus with a day of polishing. Here is a picture of Sean, Nick, and Myself. Nick an employee of mine was at the shop hanging out doing some cleaning and gave us a hand.

Whenever I work with some one I never let them leave without polishing sandmarks out. Here is Sean removing some sand Marks out for the first time! He did great.

It was nice to finally work with Sean and volunteer my time to a man who is dedicated to saving others lives. Often as a detailer I get wrapped up in doing the next cool car, or trying to find ways for my business to prosper, but its times like this that make me realize what detailing is all about. Its about enjoying a great shine and some good company. Sean thanks for stopping by it was great to meet you and polish with ya! Enjoy the shine Bud!

Let me tell y'all what an awesome day this has been. Barry took what I've learned about detailing in the past 3-4 years and threw it out the window! After that knowledge was down the street a ways he built my new found knowledge from the ground up and it was put into action. Even though Barry was running circles around me, it was by far the most intense detail I have done to date and what I've learned today will carry me in every detail I do from here on out, with that Barry, I THAN.....no I SALUTE YOU......Groundpounder! :usa

Barry strives to go the distance and I got to experience this first hand today, the man's got the discipline and passion to show others what they can accomplish in this art and with that I hope to walk away from the next gig I do with even just a little bit of his fire burning thru my viens! I do believe he was more excited then I was when we got the Focus to shine like hasn't shined in it's 8 years of being!

Again Barry THANKS A MILLION, especially for taking more time out and writing this thread up and the kind words! Whenever you want to teach this tanker a few more tricks give me a ring! It was loads fun and most definitely GOOD TIMES!

I'd write more but Mrs Underdawg beckons!

awesome! i love when Autopians come together and share the passion and learn from one another. i salute both you barry and sean for serving in the armed forces and help keeping AUTOPIA.ORG the best car care forum in the world! this is for both you guys... :2thumbs:

p.s. sean how do you like the HD polisher?

Great work boys. Barry is certainly good people. Glad you guys could get together and make that Focus bling.

What are your thoughts on the HD polisher?

Slip of the tongue?

New HD PC? lol

I know what you meant. That was really awesome of you, Barry. It looks like you guys had a good time and the Ford looks its best ever, I'm sure.

Al and Dave, I'm loving what I was able to accomplish with the HD Polisher....really I am! One thing though is that puppy was kicking out some heat, I really wouldn't suggest cranking her up to 6 and going to town! I kinda killed two of Barry's orange pads....ooops, sorry Barry!

One of the best things I learned from Barry on Saturday was to be conscious on what you're doing with the polisher (speed, pressure....ect). Now with my broke *** 110v1 I would normally correct between 5 and 6. Being that it was an older polisher and it's power was no where near that of the HD-DA and the GG6. The 110v1 didn't put out any kind of heat and with that I became complaciant. Knowing what I know now is definately gonna save my pads when I get the HD-DA. The HD-DA corrected better and faster on one pass at 4 then what the 110v1 could do at 5 to 6 after two to three passes (on the Focus)!

So with all that said. In my newbish experience, I would only go up to 6 for short bursts of power (for those stubborn defects). Between 4 and 5 will sufficiently correct with the proper product and pad.

It was an awesome time indeed but it went by way too fast! Barry's got a nice "little" setup at his shop and has big plans for the future!

Again thanks to Barry AND Nick for helping me bring that dirty little thing back into a sexy beast! Now the problem is that I can't stop looking at the shine! If it wasn't for my g110 being out of service, I'd be out polishing something now, Barry definitely turned my passion from a tiny fire to a raging inferno!

:flame: :buffing: :flame:
