Most efficient way to apply spray sealants?

Hey guys, curious what your take is on this topic. I've applied Z8 with microfiber but I feel A LOT of it just gets saturated up in the MF and doesn't get on the vehicle. Anyone had success using foam or anything else of the sort?

i spray onto one section at a time, and use a square mf applicator to spread it around evenly, and then buff with a plush mf. doing it this way, you can see the tiny beads of product being spread around, unlike using a mf towel where it soaks up rather quickly...

I let it saturate the mf, typically I spray the panel and the towel and have a second towel to buff off with. Works well with most I have used, BF SS, Menz. HGSS, AW, 425, AJ Trigger, etc. I use a thick napped mf. Using an applicator is just as good.

I spray on the panel, spread with a MF covered "bone" shaped sponge, and wipe off with a folded MF. When I tried to spread with a MF towel it did seem like it absorbed too much product, and it seems that less gets absorbed with the bone :nixweiss

I spray Z8 and AW directly on the paint and wipe with either a Bone MF or regular MF. CS I apply with either a MF or cotton applicator.

When applying sealants, I use either a MF app or a terry app soaked with distilled water, then I wring it out to remove all excess water. This method really seems to prevent my sealants of choice from being absorbed into the app and allows for solid "workability" during the sealant application.

Yes, I also use a MF applicator pad. The towels just seem to "soak" too much and always tend to bunch up/fold under/come apart - as in, the folds come apart. Doesn't keep its shape.

Also, I learned after a terrible mistake (I still have all the white spots all over my black plastic grill to this day) to spray onto the applicator first before.

For the record, I used DP Spray Sealant which will stain if you're not careful! Not all sealants will, I'm sure. However, if you're using that product... do NOT follow the written directions!. Always spray the app then go for the body panel.

Some products you can get away with going straight onto the body panel... but this is one product you can't do that with.

Use a standard MF towel so it doesn't absorb much product, spray the surface and work it in with some pressure, then get the monster fluffy out and finish off.

I like to use a suede type MF as it won't absorb that much liquid as other weave types.

Great idea! I never thought of that. I have a couple suede MF and I never use them as I didn't now what to do with them.

What a great suggestion. Suede MF has no nap so maximum wax usage - minimum absorbancy. :bigups

When I am at a car show AND it is an extremely hot or humid day I spray Z-8 on the detailing/buffing cloth.

Otherwise, I follow the directions on the back of the bottle.
