Monster Energy Drink Review. I need a hookup.

There is no cure!
Killing some time on my lunch hour. So give me a break if you feel this is a pointless review.

Well I think I've finally stumbled upon my favourite energy.

Monster Energy drink is probably the best tasting, most effective energy drink you can buy. Here's my opinion.

The cans of Monster come in 3 sizes. 8oz, 16oz, and 23.5oz. I have never seen the 8oz. can though. First time I drank this was a month or so ago at the attendance of "WARP TOUR 2006' ". A lot of people were handing them out and I was in the mood of trying something different than the regular "2 cans of Redbull". So I drank probably half of the 16oz. can which would equal one regular 8oz can of Redbull that I'm sure everyone is familiar with.

WOW! The last time I got a buzz this effective was in 1999-2000 when I was skateboarding with some friends at the local skatepark and saw some new introduced Redbull cans for $1.50 a pop. Back then Redbull was the king, and offered something a lot more than most drinks offered. It offered the combination of not only caffeine, taurine, and maybe guarana, but it gave you precious Vitamins (vitamin b12 and b6) that assist in helping your body use its own enegy and also boost some brain power. Well not 6 or so years later, a lot of companies have joined the bandwagon and have started offering their own brand of energy drinks. Some have accomplished a lot, some just added some caffeine and a lot of sugar.

Well let me say one thing. Monster has really done something. Not only has it accomplished the taste barrier that I had to always block when it came to Redbull, but it also knocked Redbulls fame out the door with only half the serving of what I would need redbull to accomplish.

Since I have been drinking 2 cans a day. Most of the time I sip one entire 16oz. can throughout my morning while I'm returning phonecalls, checking legal docs, or preparing my work for the rest of the day. That one can in the morning keeps me up and ready for anything going on in my day.

I also drink another can 30 minutes prior to working out 8pm'ish. Leaves me with soo much energy, that I tend to add an extra set to every workout. Muscle stamina stays peek for the majority of my workout, and as long as I have a gallon of water and sipping it throughout, I stay hydrated and full of energy.

While Studying, I can read a 10 chapters in about 30 minutes and actually recall what I have read. So Greg and all those in college, that ones up for you.

As for how it may help in your details. I tend to book all of my details in the early morning on Saturdays or Sundays. My normal routine of 2 Redbull's would get me through my morning lazyness and get me through the wash and clay, but by the time I'm laying down the beads for polish, I begin to get sluggish. Not with Monster. With the addition of Monster and plenty of h2o, you will detail your entire car with the enthusiasm of a newbie detailer getting a hold of a brand new PC. I finish 2 step polishings in 25% less time than I did prior and get less distracted while working...

I know a lot of guys have their worries when it comes to energy drinks, but those who don't give Monster a try. You will be hooked...

Now after all this typing and 5 more minutes in my lunch hour, I ask...

Do any of you know a place to order cans of Monster in bulk... @ 2.50 a can, its getting expensive...Not that I mind sacrificing it, but if I can save, the better.

Any comments on this drink. Any recommendations on others?

Other drinks I have tried have been :

Redbull
Mountain Dew's version
Rockstar
RIP IT
PITBULL
EXTREME ENERGY SHOT (By Arizona Beverage Co.)

I like the Idea of the energy drinks..But had questions as to how they effect you long term....or even short term...

do they make your heart race...

get any headaches....

get jitters when product is winding down..or gearing up...

able to make fast decisions while driving...any reflex disorder..

body tensions...unrelaxed...hyper..

just wanted to know..as I wanted to try them but just was not ready to drink them and not know what results where...I know most are herbal and some with caffeine...so was ephedrine herbal...I took them for awhile and it twisted me up....

Thanks

Al

May have to try some this evening.....well....tomorrow morning. When I road trip, I usually drink a few Mt.Dew energy drinks, coffee, and a No Dose. I am set for 2 days.....Shake like a Mother, but I am aware and reflex is normal.

Green Monster - Good
Blue Monster (Diet?) - Awful.

Has anyone seen that TAB was re-introduced as an energy drink?

Hmmm...Monster? I've tried the green and blue and I honestly can say that I didn't like it much...especially the 'blue' one. It was absolutely awful.

Now...I'm a fanatic of these energy drinks, not so much for the energy, but for the taste. I've tried a number of them and so many taste crappy.

I've got to say that I'm a sugar-free RedBull fanatic!!! I drink 2, sometimes 3 cans a day. I just love the stuff!! I'm finding that instead of coffee in the morning, I usually drink Red Bull.

My other fave is the JOLT blue!!! This stuff is NOT sugar free and holy cow is it good!! Tastes kinda like a blueberry snow cone but with a little bite. Not to mention that the can is just the coolest design ever!! I'm a graphic designer so I'm drawn to things with cool graphics and packaging!! The can is aluminum with a twist on/off lid, so I refill them with water when I'm done...at 24oz it's perfect for working in the yard and needing a big, cold container of water.

So I guess while we're on this energy drink topic...anyone know where I can get Red Bull by the case...cheap? PM me if so...thanks!

Thanks Joyriide1113...I may stop into my local QT this morning and try another 'Monster'.

I've seen redbull by the 24 pack @ costco... It is not cheap... Something like 25 bucks.

I'm still searching, looking for an online store to order it from.... Nothing.

I too am an energy drink fanatic, but they sure do kill you on the cost! I mainly stick to the sugar free Redbull, which I buy at costco. It is still expensive, as joyriide said, but it's the cheapest I've seen yet.

I've been taking various energy drinks and other supplements for years with no ill affects. Only if you have an aversion to caffiene, or are taking weight loss supplements (HIGH in caffiene) should they cause any problems.

Energy drinks don't give me any noticeable pep... so I usually stick to Arizona Green Tea. :) I still like a Red Bull once in a while though. Monster is good, too.

My favorite energy drink is Bawls. Yes Bawls lol... A friend of mine who has LAN parties introduced me to it. It is some good stuff. It tastes similar to that sprite remix stuff they had a few years ago. About the only place i can find it in town is at a local computer shop where i try and buy it by the case. If you go to their website you can do a search and find where it is sold in your area. Not to mention the awesome blue bottles they come in.

You can find Monster and Red Bull at Sam's Club for pretty cheap. I just bought a case of sugar free Red Bull for the trip to Florida next week!!! Woohooo!! It's cheap too...$31.00 for a case of 24...about 1.30 a can as opposed to 2 bucks at most stores.

Joy: I had Monster today.

I ran out of water at my detail and ran to the deli next door. I saw it was the only energy drink they had other than Red Bull, and my usual Vitamin Water was absent. I tried and liked!

It quenched my thirst and kept me going strong. BTW, tastes just like Red Bull :).
