Might as well

I joined and started posting at AG a few months ago, I guess I might as well do the same here.

I’m a mechanic and have had an on-again, off-again relationship to detailing my cars over the years. But, I have been forced back into the detail game. We bought a travel trailer a few months ago and on its maiden voyage our campsite was down a forest service road that was more like a freshly trammeled hiking trail that gravel road. Needless to say, I have some correcting to do on the camper and our tow vehicle(‘13 Ford Explorer xlt).

So, down the detailing rabbit hole I go. Being somewhat of a Germanophile I headed straight to searching for German detail products. Thankfully ze Germans still make some pretty awesome stuff. One of my favorite race cars ever is the Sonax Mercedes 190e DTM(I was a Mercedes tech for years) car so it only makes sense to have the core of my products from Sonax. But I also have a soft spot for some Zymol and Collinite waxes. I have already sprinkled a bottle of Menzerna 3-in-1 into the mix and will pick-and-choose some random stuff where I need.

My first power tool is a cheapo SPTA da from Amazon and will eventually upgrade to a Flex. Baby steps, though

Welcome. Polish Angel is a High dollar German detail supply company. They make great but expensive products.

I’m obviously new, explanation please?
Polish Angel is a German-based detailing product manufacturer, since you stated that you are leaning toward German-made detailing products.
Their products are "higher-end priced" products, BUT as the saying goes, "the best is never cheap."
OR as my now-deceased father paraphrased this, "You wanna run with the big dogs, you gotta pay like the big dogs".

Is you camper trailer gel-coated fiberglass OR painted (or powder coated?) sheet-metal exterior?
I ask because gel coat, as a rule, is super-hard and generally requires a rotary polisher to correct scratches and deeper swirls effectively in that surface substrate. You MIGHT be able to use a microfiber-type correcting pad and a Long-throw dual action polisher (something with a 15mm or 21mm throw) and a correcting compound, like Collinite No. 631 Fleetcut Compound. for that purpose.

I could get in a bunch of trouble for conversing with the enemy(Bear down!) but I’ll risk it

Camper is gel coated. And, it was stored outside without a covering so one side was just hammered by the sun and the gel coat has bubbles and peeled up. So that’s one of my projects for this winter…

I have a cheap Harbor Freight rotary so I have that covered. I’ve been doing a little bit of digging about what products to use but when I get closer to actually doing this I’ll dive in deeper

The Polish Angel stuff looks interesting. How does it compare to anything else available? Is it legit better or is it good with a good marketing campaign?

Polish angel is really nice. I love rapidwaxx it`s one of the cheaper products in the line but it shares similar chemistry to cosmic spritz. For a camper you probably want to get something with more value. Off the top of my head adam`s graphene spray coating might be a good fit.

I`m a big fan of sonax`s cutmax and perfect finish too. Other german abrasives are scholl`s and koch chemie. Menz too of course.

I would look for fiberglass-specific (boat and RV) correcting products for your camper.
If you want to learn about Polish Angel products, look at posts by Autopian All-Star 512detail. His use of this product line is on a number of high-performance Chrysler/Dodge /Mopar vehicles he has detailed over the years.

Good to hear the Polish Angel stuff is legit. I’ll definitely dig in a bit and also check out 512detail’s posts

I’m trying to prepare myself for gel coating our camper this winter. One side has been just hammered by the sun so it needs to be done. I’ll probably just end up buying the gel coat specific products from Menzerna too. It’ll be easier than wasting time with some products I already have that aren’t strong enough in the first place

It all depends on what ‘better’ is to you. PA isn’t the toughest, most durable product on the shelf but performance is excellent if it fits your situation, ease of use is fantastic and looks, albeit a very subjective topic, are delicious.

It’s fun stuff.
