Michelin windshield wipers

Hey,

I am going to buy my friend some new windshield wipers, his are really worn out and he won't buy new ones. I saw some bracketless Michelin wipers at wal mart for a good price. I know Michelin makes good tires, so I figure these shouldn't be too bad either. Has anyone tried them? Are they any good?

Thanks!

They should be okay. I believe the brand is Michelin Radius. They cost around $15, right?

These frameless wipers are known for their durability, excellent performance in snow, and good looks. Go for it!

I've been using the Michelins from Wal-Mart for over a year now (on my 2nd set). I'm not sure if there's more than one kind, but the ones I have are basically OEM replacements for about $6/ea. They work better than ANCOs, which is fine for me.

I have the cheapo Michelens from Wally World on my Honda and they work great. No chatter, streaks, or skipping. They've held up for over a year sitting outside 24x7.

I'd recommend them. Keeping your windshield cleaned regularly and protected (Rain X in my case) or with a QD helps out too.

I don't have experience with the frameless one you're referring to since I haven't seen any Walmart near me carry this new kind, but with the old OEM replacements I've had mixed results. On my car, they worked extremely well. On my father in law's car, it streaks and chatters. They've been on for a good year and a half and both set are still holding up, but I am also in SoCal, so our weather's not too harsh. Even though they didn't do so great on one of the cars, it was still a good purchase and I didn't regret purchasing them. It was hard to beat the price. Walmart eventually started raising the prices on them, at least in my area.

I picked mine up at Target for my station car (97 Expedition) and recently got the for my GF's Chevy 2 door blazer. I think they are pretty damn good and can't be beat for teh money! There were 2 versions where I got them and I opted to spend the extra buck or so for the "premium" ones. I think each blade was $11. Easiest wipers I have installed as they were ready to go. No BS changing clips etc.

They work great on hwys too as they have a built in wind deflector which pushes the wiper down and reduces lift. Good clearing at speed! No streaks, chatter, etc

I believe the Walmarts are just beginning to stock the new Michelin Radius's. Keep on the look :)

Guys, are there multiple versions of the Michelin blades? Different price points?

I'd swear I looked at these at some auto parts store and they were $22 each or something. I'm talking about traditional design, not the newer low profile style.

Thx.
