Metallic Silver Touchup Advice

I'm trying to do some touchup work on a metallic silver car.

The problem is the flake looks ok from certain angles, but from others it looks bad.

The silver becomes sort of gray and it kind of looks like a bug splat or something.

I've read about the guy doing the touchup with the airbrush, is this the only method you guys would recommend or is there a simpler way to do it?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Pictures would help.

Light metallic touchups (silver, gold, light blue, light green) will never look as good as solid colors (red, black, white) because a touchup brush cannot lay the paint like it was applied at the factory--atomized out of a gun.

Even airbrush repairs are disappointing.

If you're offering silver touchup and charging for it, be sure to promise--at most--a 50% improvement.

If 50% improvement isn't satisfactory, the customer will have to pay for a repaint of the hood/door/fender/quarter panel that has the damage.
