Mellow Yellow

Got a call last weekend from a good friend and client saying that he is in Austin picking up his new Porsche GT3 and for me to block out some time to detail it. 4 days later it's go time!

Beautiful car, what more can be said? Speed Yellow, black leather interior with yellow stitching through out the interior. Carbon fiber interior trim pieces with yellow accents, very nice.

The Gt3 rolled off the truck with plastic all around the car, the plastic was removed then it was inspected and the keys handed over to its new owner. No one washed it or detailed it and it still had swirls in the paint!!

I did not use a rotary on the paint for the initial detail because the swirls are not that bad, perhaps in about 6 months I'll break out the rotary. I used Meguiars DACP with a polishing pad on the PC after it was clayed. Then a hand aplied coat of AIO followed by UPP. This morning I went back and applied a topper of Trade Secret.

I used a few NEW products on this car that I am very well pleased with. Even though the interior was pretty clean it did have some fine dust and a few scuff marks but Platinum's new Leather Cleaning Gel took care of them with ease. This is a rathr thick liguid gel that smells like Sprite...or maybe some flavor of Lifesaver, can't really pinpoint it but man does it smell great:xyxthumbs

Dwayne from Four Star also sent me two other new products to test out. A Gel Wheel Cleaner that works fantastic and man does it suds up so key word here is use it "sparingly". Very nice "fruity" smell and an outrageous florescent orange color. The next product, perhaps my fav, is the new Platinum Tire Gel. Great results and gives me that deep rich black color I desire. This will now be my tire gel of choice.

Well here are the pics.

Simply gorgeous Anthony. Glad to see it is being taken care of properly. How's the "invention" coming. I actually thought that's what "mellow yellow" might have been. Take care.

Anthony,

Car looks awesome! Great job, yawn, as always. Looking at your details is like playing golf with someone who ALWAYS hits it in the fairways. After awhile, you just know that they just don't miss. Well, neither do you.

Unfortunately, I'm getting old and my eyes aren't what they used to be.:nixweiss Can you tell me if the gel creates a shiny look or more of a deep, matte look? Also, do you have any issues with it slinging off?

Thanks,

Sam

(I wanna be like ......Anthony!)

Hello Autopians,

Thank you for the thumbs up and all, and to Gonzo also as it's prety cool knowing one of my etails is on someones desktop:)

Greg,

the "invention" is coming along sloooowly as I have so much stuff going on. I have a tester of sorts and I might be seeking out a few autopian testers once I work all the bugs out.

Sam,

I have used the Platinum Tire Gel on several cars now and as long you don't pile the gel on there is no tire sling at all. There is no "high" gloss but there is a toned down gloss. The key is an absolute clean tire and TWO light coats rather than one heavy coat. It lasts for a good two weeks and 2 washes depending on your driving habits.

Thanks again for the kind words. I appreciate it as it causes me to be more driven toward that perfect detail.

Your friend owns my dream car and therefore he must die.

Seriously though, the car looks great, tell the owner he is welcome to drop by my house any time. :xyxthumbs

Here is an interior shot but the picture is not able to show it all.......man does this new keyboard suck!! The keys are all small and real low and as I type I hit all these different keys:sosad

So I apologize for any and all tipos.....typpos...argh! Typos!

That car is SICK! Oh man, how gorgeous it is. I love that dash shot of the gauges.

Great job and killer, killer automobile.

That baby redlines near nine grand?!! That must be a beautiful sound to experience. Argh, I can just imagine it now... Anybody know how to make a quick 99 grand plus luxury tax, plus gas guzzler tax plus.......
