Meguiar's Hyper Dressing Review

I picked a gallon of the Meguiar's Hyper Dressin today and here is an initial review of the product:

Cost: $35

Usage: Dilution ratio up to 1:4

Use: 1:1

Notes:

Appearance: Matte finish when used at this ratio, the dressing was used on an old neglected Stratus

A little goes along way..I used a microfiber that I wettted thouroughly with the dressing and it was almost enough to do the whole car.

A little sticky

Fragarance: Very nice but subtle enough it does not overwhelm

Overall a strong product especially when you consider the cost from the dilution ratios.

looks good, although I like to apply interior dressing with round applicators they work great and you can save your micros for the important stuff.

Towels really allow me to get in all the nooks and crannies plus it allows to apply more over a greater space, I am not big on using applicators on the interior but whatever works!

Looks great!

So 1:4 for matte. It looks about the shinyness of 303. Am I on the right track?

Have you tried it on the tires yet?

I've been playing around with it too. At 2:1, you get a pretty good gloss, so I am going with 3:1 right now since while I may like a matte finish, most of my customers want a bit more shine. Pretty durable for a water based product too. I've had it on my dash almost 2 weeks now and it still looks really good. Even after driving in the rain on Monday and washing my car twice, the tires have a really nice matte look to them.

I mixed mine 1:1 and it resulted in a matte finish, but I assume that came from the condition of the dashboard. I wonder if this stuff seperates if it sits fir a few days.

I wonder in comparison about the All Season dressing, it is solvent based and not water based, I wonder how the sheen and usage on it is?

Yes, it does do a little separating. A quick couple shakes and it's ready for use though.

I tell ya what the hyper dressing rocked on tires, I not joking when I say that it lasted about 2 weeks on my tires, the best of any tire dressing to this point.

I agree. I just washed an Escalade and SC430 that I had washed two weeks ago and the tires and fenderwells treated with Hyper Dressing at 3:1 still looked good, even before I washed either of them.

Does Hyper Dressing offer UV protection?

I called Meguiar's because I was curious about this also. The rep said it did contain UV inhibitor but to what degree and what the active chemical was he couldn't answer. He is supposed to let me know Monday. He also suggested the amount UVI would probably very with dilution.

Auto Nova,

That's great! this dressing is looking more and more attractive now: water based, you control the shine you want, long lasting, UV protection WOW, now that's what a dressing is supposed to be! :xyxthumbs

I can probably get locally too! :D

I was informed today by Meg's that HD does not contain any UV inhibitor ingredients.

Also tires feel dry after the HD dries.
