Meguiars Black Wax

Preface:
Old out of shape guy = LAZY
I use too much product
Love to try "The latest and greatest"

o6 BMW Jet Black 130k on clock
Paint condition = sucks (but can still get it looking pretty good [ck previous posts])

So I saw this come out and figured I'd give it a shot figuring mebbe it would help the finished product.

Washed
sorta dried - figured since this stuff has "polish" in it I can be lazy and not have to do a great job drying cuz it would just polish out any water spots. So while I came in to read the info on it again, it finished air drying.

Read the info on it and it sounded a lot like cg blacklight.

Used a left over Kompressor Pad (might have something to do with out come).

Primed the pad with product making sure entire pad had something on it (very thin but made sure pad had no dry spots) since this is jet black. This stuff is thick as all get out and comes in a metallic squeeze tube. So with it as thick as it is and using a compressor pad you can figure I used toooooo much. From there on out, I used 4 - 5 pea size drops per panel. Problem is on side panels the stuff is so thick and heavy I'd lose one here and there on the floor. (reminds me I gotta go clean them up after this)

Finished small detail areas with the supplied hand pad. At first I thought the pad was the cheapest pad I had ever felt. After using it, seems to me that it actually helps spread the product thinner and more even.

Let it sit for about 30 min after application and started buffing off.
Grabby, so I figured I used too much especially since this was the first panel I did so figured I'd let it sit some more.

Continued wipe off and it was still very grabby and a little tough to remove. You could also see oily residue at the spot where you stopped. Think almost like dusting but with oil mixed in.

But it looked pretty good:

One thing is I wasn't careful about trim. OOPS

Finish wipe off and pull it out time. Then notice it seems like some areas are sweating or streaking. (again possibly used too much)...

But I was annoyed to see that it didn't remove some (or any actually) of the water spots. :wall so much for being lazy

Finished up re-buffing car... Looks good from 20 feet at least:

Some things to remember. As I said I probably used too much. It was a Kompressor pad. But I really think that Megs needs to re-think the viscosity and packaging.

I loved your review. Funny, self-deprecating, hit all the points. Thank you for sharing!

It really was a disappointing outcome. I had most of the flaws covered and looking good. I honestly think that just a wash would have a better look since it was recently done.
