Meguiars APC dillution ratio and uses

I ordered some meguiars apc and am getting ready to use it on a few things but I am not sure how to duillute it. I want to use it in my engine bay. It is not what I'd call really dirty since I do clean it frequently. What is a good ratio to use on it? Can I spray it on a rag and wipe everything down or should I use a damp rag to follow up? Before I have used a damp rag to clean it, so this is really the first time I have really used a cleaner on it.

I also want to try it on my floormats that have dirt embedded in the heel areas. Is 10:1 good for something like this? Is it a good idea to rinse the entire floormat off with a hose to remove any of the apc product, or can it be done by vacuuming it out?

I use Megs APC at 4:1 for tires, engines, etc....

For interiors it calls for 10:1 but i like 7:1 better..

I like washing engines rather than wiping them down, it ruins towels and i cant get into crevices.

Are you talking about the green-colored APC or the orange-colored APC+???

APC is formulated more for interiors. APC foams much more and has optical brighteners (which help with cleaning carpets, etc.).

APC+ is for just about anything inside or outside of the vehicle.

Google will return a TON of hits if you search... FYI

I looked around some before posting but I never really saw any similar dillution results. I know that some people may have their own prefered dillutions but I don't want to go too strong or too weak where I am wasting my time, just looking for a good starting point for each

It is the green colored APC not the APC+

I'd also like to try it out on brake calipers also to get off the tough brake dust. Is this a good use for it, or is it like simple green where it should not be used on aluminum and metal parts?

Forums are for open discussion so don't feel bad about posting this thread. It's not like you're asking a question about ONR or something that gets beaten to death.

Anyway, Meguiar's suggests 10:1 for medium duty and up to 4:1 for heavy duty. Check out the "directions" tab in this link: Meguiar's D101 All Purpose Cleaner

OP I wasn't trying to be a **** with my post. :)

I've had good luck with Google.

Anyway, seems like you've gotten most of your answers already.

Thanks for the link. I will try 10:1 and see how that works and increase if needed

Is the meguiars apc safe to use on the inside chrome polished exhaust tips? I'd like to try it out on removing built up carbon and soot

I just got my first gallon of APC+ and set up a bottle 10:1 and another 4:1 and was very pleased! I used the 4:1 on my daughters wheels/tires and was amazed at the crap that came off! I used the 10:1 on my wifes wheels/tires and again was very happy with the results. With the dillution ratios it seems the APC and APC+ are very cost effective.
