Packing Info

I got a sample from joyriide1113. Thanks!! I think it was a 2 oz bottle. The bottle the sealant comes in is the same megs brown bottle jug. Should have no problems of durablilty

Description

This sealant is made of highly reflective polymers that bond to the paint to create a micro-thin shell that is both incredibly shiny and durable. Unlike most paint sealants, #21 Synthetic Sealant eliminates fine swirls and scratches to render a flawless finish. Your paint will appear darker, glossier, and smoother than ever before. #21 is designed to go on by hand or with the help of a machine polisher, which makes it equally suitable for use by a professional or a do-it-yourselfer.

Color/Scent

This color is a very virbrant purple. This didnt really have a big scent to me. It had a very very faint fruity smell (barely) and then a touch of chemical.

How i used it

Pappy came over and we used his mountaineer. We S+W'ed , then hand applied PwC blue to remove his product buildup. I applied the sealant via megs gold class mf applicator. It went on very thin to the vehicle. We didnt do the roof because we were to lazy and we thought it woudl be good to test the durablity or PwC versus #21. We let it dry for about 15 minutes and then wiped it off with extreme ease using a cobra mf towel. If we did the roof I think we would have used a total of just under an once to do the entire vehicle.

Thoughts

I was a bit skeptical of the pictures I had seen before of #21 on vehicles but it really does yeild a very reflective and wet shine. It really darkend the darks of the paint, but were there was bright spots on the pint from light and sun it really was bright. We had a nice flake pop with the sealant. The thing I realy liked about #21 was that it did a great job at hiding minor swirls in pappys paint. (he is really busy lately to polish) We were bothed pretty impressed with the hiding ability.

I hope pappy will let me swing down tommarow and spray and gloss quick and snap some pics after the sealant has cured. So no pics for now. Hopefully tommarow!

Nice review. I wish it came in anouther size, I want to try it but I can't justify a half gallon of sealant. I believe it's supposed to have the best qualities of NXT and #20, have you seen this?

Nice review Greg. Yet another product on my "To-Try List"! Ya it is a bit pricey and that is an awful lot of sealant so when I do decide to buy it, which I will, atleast I'll have a bunch to almost last forever...

While I'm not interested, maybe a few of you people might want to buy some of the #21 and split it up.
It won't make it cheap, but at least you won't feel like you have purchased enough product to last you for years.
I think a 16 oz. bottle of UPP lasts me at least a couple of years using it on 3 or 4 cars in the family. It doesn't seem to take much of a sealant per vehicle.

Oh yeah, nice review. :D

Hey guys there is a site online were you can buy a sample of the product. I cant remember the site but I think it was 12 oz for 9 bucks?

#21 is good stuff. I used it on the extended families cars that I detail, even though I use Zaino on the Mrs and my cars. #21 has a great shine. Will be interesting to see what it's durability is.

Pappy and I washed his mountaineer last night before he brought it to the dealer today. It had a single coat on it about 2 weeks ago and it beads very well. I really like the slickness. I find that if you hit it with the right amount of water it will sheet off making trying easy. I got a 12 oz from ADS coming today so more to come.

Yea, I saw several good reviews on Megs #21 over at Meguiar's forums, and Detailersclub and Autopia. I bought some (the 12 ounce sample) from autodetailsolutions.com, and like it so much that I bought a jug from AutoGeek. Using on my '05 Montego and the kids Contour and the wife's Mountaineer. Very slick finish, and after eight weeks seems to be pretty durable. I guess time will tell.

Yea, I did too, on meguiarsonline and detailersclub. Like I said, I'm using it on the parents and siblings cars. Mine and the wife's are strictly Zaino, but the M21 is good stuff and I'd use it to if I wasn't as happy with the Zaino as I am. M21 is a close second on appearance. Jury's out still on the durability issue. If it's like M20, then Meguiar's has a good thing going with M21 Synthetic Sealant.

Hey, I assume "Redmontego" means a new Mercury Montego - how do you like yours?

I love it. Best car I've ever owned. I would put it up against any import/import brand any day of the week!! 21.5 MPG combined 80% city/20% highway driving in an WD sedan that has the room of a Lincoln Town Car and the handling of a sports sedan. It rocks!!

Yea, this is a great car. I dumped (traded in) a very trouble prone 2002 Honda Accord for my 2005 Ford Five Hundred Limited. Yea, I said a trouble prone Honda. Go figure. Five Hundred is a great ride.

Back to the Meguiar's M21 - you can't go wrong with this stuff, my Zaino preference notwithstanding, and you'll get good service from Autogeek. Get your PC pads from them - they got a great selection and good pricing.
