megs Last Touch spray detailer

I don't think it is as good a QD as Final Detail, which it replaced. I bought a gallon when it first came out and am just about done with it but I don't think I will buy it again. It does an OK job as a QD but I find that the scent is too strong for me. The scent is strong enough that if you get it on your hands, the scent will stay there for the rest of the day, no matter how much you wash your hands afterwards.

It's a nice QD, has very minor cleaning abilities, but leaves a nice gloss. The scent is not bad, but there are others I like better.

No it doesn't compare to the Quick Detailer at all. Really, it doesn't have a similar product anywhere in their product line. The Quick Detailer is much like Final Inspection.

I'm glad you brought that up, because I used both Final Inspection and Quick Detailer side by side, and the smell was EXACTLY the same, as was their effect. I couldn't tell the difference between the two.

I still use the quick detailer - do you think this other stuff is better or worse?

I cut mine down 50% with water (which is what they recommend for clay lube) and it doesn't smell so bad and wipes a little cleaner, not so greasy.

again, i guess it all boils down to personal preferences. i use it exclusively. the trick with it is as megs states. less is better and less goes a long way. it must be lightly misted on the finish. i'll only spray a hood in 4-5 places & buff w/a clean MF. the upper half of a door panel w/2 spritzs, the lower w/2 etc etc. if you apply to much, after you wipe down, you'll notice a haze or streaking a few minutes later. that being the case, like removes like, try again with lighter application. gives all finishes that Emeral equivalent of a BAM.

review to follow - but heres some pics (partly cloudy, not so great)

I'm with the rest. The gloss is pretty much on par with Final Detail, but everything about using it is worse in my opinion. The smell at first seems ok, but starts to be nauseating after a bit. The product itself is more prone to streaking than Final Detail. I also don't notice quite the same beading from Last Touch that I'd get from Final Detail (like on glass and such).

By itself, Last Touch leaves a great finish and can be a bit finicky. It's not a bad product if you can use it properly. But since I have Last Touch and also Final Detail, I absolutely prefer Final Detail every single time. I only use Last Touch sometimes in a bucket of QEW, but even at that it's just to use it up. I've never noticed much difference in putting QD in the bucket.

I tried Last Touch as a QD a couple of times, but I hate products that streak, so in the end it was a no-go for me. However, when diluted 1:1 with water, Last Touch makes a decent and not-terribly-expensive clay lube. If anyone out there picked up a gallon and didn't care for it as a QD, you can at least use it up as lube.

FWIW,

price: $20 for gallon = cheap

application: easy - no streaking for me - even when applied with a walmart spray bottle & cheap MF

smell: kinda coconut - like the smell of stripper (while she is on stage tho, not on your lap!)

cleaning: dust, finger prints - yes ; some major "baked in" bug splatter - no

shine: yes - drive thru touchless carwash "wax" dulled my paint, Last Touch brought it back and then some
