megs hot shine tire coating

i used megs hot shine tire foam on a friends beat up, trashed truck tires recently and he was astounded at the results. i cleaned them with apc first, but the spray does a pretty good job at cleaning by itself. since i clean the tires first anyway, i'll definitely give the tire coating spray a try. i like the shine.

I use meg's hot shine, but I use the pumpspray version and spritz it on an applicator pad first, then wipe on. Gives a great wet look that lasts about a week. I refuse to use anything else on my tires.

If you like the look of Meg's Hot Shine and don't like messing around and applying tire dressing every week or wash; you should really look into Tuf Shine. The initial prep takes a little extra as you need to strip off all the old dressings and silicone. It took me about 4 applications with scrubbing with APC and ARO. But you can control the gloss by the number of applications. It is considered a tire coating. It lasts a long time and you can simply re-apply when you want more gloss.

I have had it on my truck for about 2 months now and this stuff lasts. The best part is it doesn't brown and only takes soap and water to clean up. No scrubbing required.

I tried this stuff the other day on some really aggressive tires and it does a nice job. I would use it again.

I have a can that I used on my truck because of all the grooves and it was too glossy for me. I wiped with a rag and I thought it looked better.

I dont know why, but I haven't had success with Meg's Hot Tire Shine, spray. I'm sure it has to be the same ingredients, correct?

32 oz. Meguiars High Gloss Hot Shine Tire Spray

My process was almost the same as the OP. I'd clean wheels with APC, let dry and then spray Hot Shine on to applicator and apply an even coat. It seemed that after about 5-10minutes the shine dried and became more of a matte finish with very little shine left.

Once I run out I'll again be looking for something new to cover my "bulk use" arsonal. Its gotta be a spray, apply a wet shine in 1 coat and stays looking wet for at least a couple days (would really like a 5-7 days).
