Matte paint care??

Any ideas? I like the semi gloss look. It looks tuff on allot of cars. I have race car being built that will have a matte finish except for the hood and hatch. They will be carbon. How do you take care of the Matte?

First, it kinda depends on the type of paint. If it's a matte clear, that's been colorsanded (like House of Kolor or PPG's) then it should be like any other paint job. However, if its a non cleared rough surface, (like a primer or non-cleared basecoat) then I would suggest using a concentrated window cleaner diluted to double the recomended usage (unstead of one to four, one to two).

Wow, never even considered this. I've seen matte paint cars that are clean but never sharp. I guess AJAX and a good stiff brush ought to do it. :D

Here is a link to the paint that will be used. It is black. Hot Rod Flatz
It's a little better than primer rust oleum.;)

Tell me these cars dont look nice.

Meguiar's R&D are in the research stages of finding a polish to work with matte finishes without creating shine.

Thanks, that was more of what I was looking for. What can I use to protect the paint.

I like the satin look not the chalky primer look.
