makita buffer ???

my bro has a makita polisher unit, i think its a rotary, but was wondering if i can find a backing plate for it, it spins in one direction and its pretty loud, do you think its a rotary, and where could i find a backing plate for it.

also, should i get 5'' or 4'' plate / pads ?

Autogeek.net is a good place to look. I have a Makita rotary, and I use the Lake Country backing plates in 2-3/4" and 6".
