I once thought that the guys who detail aircraft charged nutty prices, $4,000 for a G4, took a crew of 5 two days-then I learned that the insurance coverage was roughly $28k a year for an established firm with NO claims.
Was told that a company operating at the same fbo as the one I was at caused over $100,000 'damage' simply by dropping a buffer onto a Falcon from the upper tail; a section had to be de-skinned, inspected, repaired, repainted to match (or the entire aircraft has to be done if a match cannot be accomplished) and then there is something that happens to the aircraft or rather the aircrafts owner called -diminished value- interesting stuff...
How about $400 or so just to replace a static wick ??
Big dollars coming in and big dollars going out-no thanks.
Trouble, like you tag line-there are no singular events in nature, you are correct.
