Let there be light...

Detailing Gnosis
This weekend I purchased a 10-ft ladder and installed 2 more (had 2 banks already) 2 bulb 8 ft florescent light fixtures. Now I can see much better. My 1000W halogens just do not put out enough light for general lighting.

I wash (ONR) and detail my cars in the garage but it was annoying to finish up and then drive outside to notice random misses such as polish or wax in seams, etc.

I ended up using 60 W 5400 lumen bulbs / 4100K but I had some 75W daylight bulbs in one set of the existing fixtures (4500 lumen). The daylight bulbs seemed to provide better light. Hmm. Is it worth another $40?

:yay

I love my daylight bulbs!

I only have them in one garage fixture now but when I replace the other fixtures I'll be putting them in there as well. The bone head that built my garage didn't put in cold start fixtures so when it's below freezing they don't turn on.

I plan on putting a fixture or two on the wall too. So I get good light on the lower panels as well.

I use the 6500k daylight bulbs as well. I find it more useful than the other color temps. 4100k, etc.
