Product: Leatherique Rejuvenator oil and Pristine Clean!

Price & Price Per Ounce:

Rejuvenator Oil = $16.00 for 8oz or $2.00 for 1oz

Pristine Clean = $14.50 for 8oz or $1.81 for 1oz

Manufacturer Claims:

Rejuvenator Oil
Known world wide for its ability to soften even cardboard hard leather. It is a complex blend of animal proteins, collagens, with absolutely no oil fillers of any kind. Totally unlike all other leather products, it will not stain or discolor leather. It is perfectly safe for equestrian use! Simply spray or wipe onto the surface and massage into the leather with your hands. Allow for it be absorbed into the fibers. Rejuvenator Oil has a unique capillary action which forces proteins into the leather and dirt out! Repeated use will keep leather in tip top shape. Use to condition and preserve all your leather cars, saddles, tack, furniture, motorcycle leather and even apparel. Prestine Clean is the perfect cleaner to use after each application of Rejuvenator Oil to remove the displaced impurities on the surface of the leather

PRESTINE CLEAN
Absolutely the best cleaner available for all fine leather. Does not contain any harsh chemicals to dry and destroy fine leathers. Contains a conditioner which cleans and conditions leather, but to a lesser extent than our Rejuvinator Oil. Use to clean leather after the application of Rejuvinator Oil has done its job and as a maintenance cleaner and detailer on an as needed basis. This product is also an excellent cleaner and conditioner for vinyl and rubber. Use Prestine Clean every time you wash your car.

Packaging:

Generic packaging … There was NO directions on the bottle!!!!! I had to go to the leatherique website to get the directions.

I was a bit surprised as this is probably the most expensive leather cleaner/conditioner on the market.

Color/Scent/Viscosity:

Colors: Rejuvinator oil looks like 10w40 motor oil. And Feels like it as well! Scent … kind of reminded me of caster oil.

Pristine Clean had more of a leather scent to it. This product had the consistency of a thin milk shake … color was a light tan almost a natural color.

How I used (as per instructions):
Applying the Rejuvenator oil
As per the instructions/recommendations on the website I added a sprayer to the top of the bottle … I sprayed the entire seat liberally. And massaged the oil in to the seats! I allowed the car to sit in the sun from 8am until the following morning. I re-applied more oil at around 2pm. Please keep in mind I only applied oil to my two front seats as my rear seats are vinyl. I used a total of about 4oz of oil total on the two seats!

The next morning I removed the excess Oil with a Terry towel.

Then applied Pristine Clean as per the Instructions.

Applying pristine clean
Once again as per the instructions/recommendations on the website I added a sprayer to the top of this bottle. I sprayed this on a little section at a time rubbing it in and wiping it off with 2 different terry towels. I did this process twice to assure that all of the excess oil had been removed!

Overall Thoughts:
EH…

At this point in time I am still undecided! I am going to do a second application possibly this weekend or in another week or so. However at this point I am not overly impressed considering the manufactures claims. There is a section of my passenger seat that seams hard as a rock. Yet there are other areas of the same seat that it has seemed to soften a bit.

The pristine clean is a very good leather cleaner I will give it that. However the one thing I was disappointed with was that it claims to bring back the Leather scent and it didn’t!

Other Notes:

If anything at all My seats Do LOOK about 50% better than they did prior to the applications. Some of the arrears where the leather was beginning to wrinkle have diminished. So I guess it did “soften” the leather somewhat. But from all of the reading that I have done on the leatherique website there seems to be a lot of hype!

Coated leather?

Charles. ..quite honestly Im not sure!

So you know what I am applying it to .. its a 2000 Ford Mustang GT Convertible with Dark Graphite Grey Interior!

Could it be Coated ..it most certenly could be...Leatherique doesn't speak anything for Coated or uncoated leather on their website!

It probably is coated and there's some debate about how well the Leatherique works on coated leather.
Actually, a lot of people feel that none of the leather conditioners work well on coated leather.
I've had some Leatherique for about a year and have never used it. Our Pontiac GTP does have coated leather.
To hopefully cover all the bases, I alternate between 303 and 4 Star Leather Conditioner. 5 years and 45,000 miles and the seats still look new so it hasn't been too bad of a combination.

Charles your probably right!

It deffinatly seems as though the Drivers seat took a better liking to the process then the passangers! What makes me wonder though is that it says it is good for all types of Vinyl including vinyl convertible tops. Now I don't know that I would put this stuff on my roof as im sure it would make a mess as it is deffinatly a messy prodject to begin with!

It was kind of cool this past saturday. So Im hoping to have a much warmer day this weekend ...and I am going to re-apply!

I want to give the product a fair chance although I am leaning towards the same findings that you have stated! There is one particular area that I may even try and apply to and leave it for a longer than stated time!

Is there a way to tell the difference b/w coated and uncoated leather. I have an 02' Pathfinder. If you would happen to know, you can just inform me!

I have heard that putting a drop of water on the leather will show the difference.
Coated leather will not absorb the water and it will run off.
Uncoated leather is supposed to absorb some of the water and will turn darker.
:dunno Never tried it since I know the GTP has coated leather.

From what I have read, I think that would be correct.
It seems to work quite well on uncoated leather and although some people have had some success using it on coated leather, I don't think it works nearly as good.
If you go to Leatherique's web-site, you can find a lot of information and I think you can communicate your questions to them.

I've used it on my coated leather and it works well. I wouldn't hesitate to offer this as a deep cleaning-restore package option in a major detail. It's probably best to wait till warmer weather/summertime to do the complete process.
