IPA Wipedown

I have never done one of these before and have some questions. I have a 1:1 mixture of IPA and water in a squirt bottle. I want to remove the existing wax from my car, and apply a new wax. Should I squirt the IPA/water directly onto the car, or squirt it onto a MF towel, and then wipe the car? The car was just clayed/polished/waxed last month, so I don't need to clay again - which is why I am looking at doing the IPA wipedown.

So after the IPA wipedown, you can then apply the LSP without washing the IPA off? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Wouldn't the concentration be important? IPA is normally available in either 70% or 99% solutions (I think). Or, does it not make any difference?

I would dilute with distilled water if I was diluting just to be safe in regards to leaving any residue on the paint. That way when the IPA/water evaporated, there would be essentially no residual on the paint.

If you don't dilute with distilled water you might as well use full strength, the alcohol evaporates and leaves nothing behind so yes you can top with lsp immediately.

Excellent. That's what I needed to know. Thanks!
