I was at my local Sherwin Williams Auto and asked to look through the meguiars product book they have which is dated for 2007.... But to my surprise, i found something that I never noticed before. Megs had been dangling the microfiber system in our faces since 07!

Just thought I would share, i know not really that important, but interesting. I know its been in development for even longer, but to see them using it in the brochure and no one questioning it.

Surbufs had been around for a long time even before that, and until fairly recently they became more well known/used. Some things just stay under the radar for a while.

Someone posted pictures that had to be doctored to hide the MF pads so it wouldn't get leaked before their release. I guess they were being tested for several years before being released.

Just recently, I've adapted a random orbital wood sander for use in polishing automotive paint. Keep an eye on this, I expect it to catch on pretty quick.

which sander? imagine most of them would work pretty well for car polishing. the pc was originally a wood sander that crossed over. only reason my bosch hasn't is it covered in wood dust.

Sorry, it wasn't a very good joke.:nervous: I was referring to the PC.

OMG I remember that!!!! I was baffled at the mistake, but it was one that all hoped would just fly under the radar... and it did.

Surbuf's were and still are touted by the manufacturer as a polishing and waxing pad.

For these purposes, most guys were sorely disappointed once they saw the micro-marring the pads sometimes created on dialed-in paint.

It wasn't until some crazy fool touted them as a defect removal weapon did they rise in popularity. :eyebrows:

In a "upcoming Meguiars products" thread, I mentioned I had heard that the big product was going to be microfiber pads for the DA. I got a call from Meguiars asking me to remove my post. I had no idea it was such a secret.
