I had a good friend from high school that I did a few details for - his cars, his wife's and their kids. They are the kind of folks that really pinch pennies and never really understood what is involved in a full detail, even though I tried to explain it. I would go to their house, pick up the car, take it home, detail it and bring it back - then wait around a couple days to get paid (never home when I return - always had to make that second trip). They always acted "funny" about what I was charging like they were over paying me cause I was an old friend; apparantly they never shopped price, as I'm sure they would pass out from what others were charging. They never took care of their cars and every 6-8 months it was Ground Hog day all over again. So, when I got the call a couple years back to do his work van, I explained I had 4 disc's in my back that were bulged/ruptured and was out of temporarily out of commission. He acted like I was putting him on at first then realized i was serious. I talked to him later and he said his daughter found some local "auto spa" to do the job for 50 bucks and "they did a good job". I was a bit bitter about this for a while, now I'm glad it happened, "friends" like that I can do without!
