Tractor Detailer
If you have been on this site a while, you will know that I am the resident tractor detailer/enthusiast. I never thought I would get so excited over some wheel cleaner and spray wax. I was at E & E equipement in Henderson, NC today buying a chrome pipe for my Model M JD. I looked over and saw a line of john Deere cleaners and Polishes. They had spray wax (got it), wheel tire cleaner (got it), Tire shine (guards against corn residue during harvesting), Synthetic sealant, and Soap. I am going back on Monday to get the sealant and sire shine.

I am so excited, I will post results of how they do tommorow.:woot2:

haha cool! It's funny what some of us get excited about. :chuckle:

I like the way the wheel and tire sparkles on the wheel and tire cleaner container. :D

It says on the bottle, "Made by John Deere INC. Moline ILL" I dont belive that JD made these, but I cant find any other info on them except for that.

I used them both a while ago.

Wheel/Tire cleaner-It works, but it isnt anything absolutely amazing. It cleans the wheel/tire/wells fine and I had no problem with it.

Spray Wax-This is the one I was excited to use. It was a little harder to apply than AW, about on the same level as OCW. Smell is a little overpowering, but not offensive. Easy to wipe off. Slickness, oh my, slickness it has. This products slickness so far is on par with UPP. It's that good. Durability I obviously dont know about, I will after the next time I do this truck. The look is great. I cant see no difference between AW and the JD wax. I'm sure that AW is more durable.

I like them so far, I will update with more results after more cars.

That is really cool! Being a QD junkie, I'd probably buy it if I saw it somewhere (Even though I don't plan on detailing any tractors!) Cool find.

The only problem is...

The John Deere stuff only works on green and yellow paint! :lol

I know be careful with that stuff. We used it on my dad's Cj-7 and look what happened!!

Seriously though..their glass cleaner is awesome.

Hey Brandon, I was there (E&E) a weeks ago checking out the new ZTR mowers for the homeowner - decent prices too, talked to a new guy that wanted to sell more than Scott does. One day I gotta go over and check out your shop, maybe trade some detailing supplies.

Definatly. Just let me know.

I have to go back and pick up the JD polish and JD "corn" resistant tires shine.

A little update on these products, the spray wax is doing well and keeps things extra slick, but is a little difficult to remove. The wheel cleaner still works well, but is nothing to go crazy over, just another wheel cleaner.

I think that JD polishes/waxes are great and I really like them b/c they say John Deere.

Hey Brandon-

Any advice for polishing the hard plastic hood of a JD L120 Mower? I got a great deal on one with only 50 hours. I know it's a Home Depot Model, but I still need to detail it.

Thanks,

Steve

I would go with the PC route on this one. The rotary may generate too much heat thus melting the plastic. I would just start out like a car, least aggressive and move up from there. Any John Deere plastic I have found has been fairly durable, yet easy to polish.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot this weekend. Some of the scratches are way too deep to get out, but I just want to clean it up a bit. Should I be concerned with using a citrus degreaser on the under carriage and mower deck?

Thanks,

Steve

That's funny. I grew up/lived/worked on a farm in ND for the first 23 years of my life. It would probably take 1 bottle to clean each tractor tire. That's great -- details products for tractors. We always waxed our grain trucks, but never tractors/combine.

On a side note, I did put a coat of Turtle Wax Titanium Ultra Gloss on my new Cub Cadet push mower this week -- after removing all the warning stickers plastered all over.

hey what kinda deere do you drive? at work i get to play with an f1145 and a 855.

Both are small, but awsome none the less

not to mention the gator :D
