Hey there,

I just received a call from a customer asking me how to remove ink from leather.

I was just wondering what you guys use.

30:1 APC (scrub with cotton towel)
Clean with water
Lexol Cleaner (with leather scrub brush)
Lexol Condtioner

believe it or not hairspray....don't ask me how or why...was at street rod show last year and a guy comes up and tries an APC did a little but not all...goes back to his car and anotherguy heard and went over with his wife's hairspray and ..it was all gone:eek:
a little dressing and it was like new again...

Plain ole' rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol 70%). For small spots use a Q-Tip for larger use cotton ball. DAB ALCOHOL. If rub you will create an unbelieveable amount of work for yourself! Let it soak for a minute, wait too long and the alcohol will simply evaporate away. Then BLOT with clean cotton ball or towel. Repeat till gone. Patience is the key here, but the results are worth it. If it will not work with repeated applications, then try a stronger solvent such as acetone (fingernail polish remover) or ethyl acetate (Non-Acetone fingernail polish remover).

DO NOT USE MINERAL SPIRITS and always test in an inconspicuous place first for color fastness.

Email me if you need more help with it and good luck!

Oh, and yes hairspray is mostly alcohol..
