How to install ringtone on iphone4.

I was cleaning up the garage and I found a few items my father bought a few years ago. One item that really caught my attention of this product called TORK-909. It's suppose to be a great lint-free polishing wipe.

I searched throug the archives but found no results. I'm thinking maybe this is a commercial product and isn't really sold to the public in small quantities. So, have any of you used or even heard of this product?

This is the only info I got from the company (look under <strong class='bbc'>TORK-909[/b] ):

Here's a picture of the wipes:

Only distribution channel is through supply companies to automotive body shops.

Good product that I've used for several years.....mainly for final distilled water wipe down after final coat of wax.

Would you say that this could be an alternative to a terry cloth or microfiber towel? I'm thinking I could use this when I detail my buddy's car since he just wants a quick shine.

if the car is clean (meaning slick perfect surface)it's a great alternative.

Tork products do an excellent job....but they were developed for paintshop.....where the detailing cloth line was always going to be used on pristine, freshly painted surfaces. Torks frag on contaminated surfaces.

need a ultra clean surface to be used....but the 606 model...says that it specializes in applying stuff...like a dry wipe....with "virtually lint free" material....that sounds promising...???

Glad someone mentioned these wipes:) I found them in a shop which is a supplier for body and paint shops.

I bought a pack and used them to apply 3M PI, SMR and other abbrasives with great results. I use one for applying and one for buffing off. Works great and doesn't lint at all. They're very soft and easy to use.

My next test will be trying them to buff off Zaino. I'll post the results.

I have a Tork shop towel dispenser but haven't used the towels you mention. Their products are first rate. I look forward to getting and testing some of these towels.

I finally got my iphone and got the new 32 gig iphone 4. This is all new to me (us old farts and technology, you know?). I want to download my Led Zeppelin ring tones I had on my old LG phone. I have the .mp3 files for them. Is it possible to download them and import them into the ringtones so I can use them? Do I need to jailbreak the phone in order to do this? How hard is that to do if so? Thanks for responding!!

Morning, Richy. If you're using iTunes, it should be pretty easy. There's a youtube video by RandomTechKid that shows how to create one. The conversion took him four minutes. No special software needed, just iTunes. Once you're done with the conversion, just synch your phone to iTunes and and that should be it from what I understood.

I know a lot of people jailbreak their phones, but I wouldn't. From what I heard it will void the warranty on your phone. Hope this helps. :)

Richie,

Don't want to divert your post but I've heard this term "jail break" for some time now. What does that mean exactly? (My 13 year old daughter wants to do it to her Mom's iPhone!)

Sincerely,
Another Old Fart.

Puck, to the best of my understanding, jail breaking refers to fully unlocking all applications on a cell phone, which were restricted or blocked by that phones provider. This is achieved using special software which can and in most cases will render your phones warranty void.

Richy -

1. Open iTines and connect your iPhone.
2. Under DEVICES, click on your iPhone.
3. Click the SUMMARY tab and under OPTIONS, check the box next to MANUALLY MANAGE MUSIC AND VIDEOS.
4. In your iTunes library, click on RINGTONES.
5. Select the ringtone(s) you want and drag them onto your iPhone.

You are done!!:Dancing Dot:

OK..they are actually listed there under ringtones for my phone (along with the one that did transfer over). It's just they won't actually snych or transfer over. I don't get it as I did the same procedure as I did on the first one. That one got put into a new folder for ringtones on the phone called 'custom'. I don't know what is stopping the files from actually transferring to the phone itself?

When you say "they are actually listed there under ringtones for my phone"...... when you start up iTunes and plug in your iPhone, do the ringtones show up ONLY in the iTune Library, or are they actually listed in the ringtones folder for the iPhone (on the iTunes front page)?

They are listed in the itunes ringtone library as well as under the ringtones tab when you select my device. It seems the one file will not go no matter what. I called Apple support today and the 2 guys could not help me. The one tried to and the other was this senior tech guy who seemed pissed off that I had done it only using Itunes and not paying for the song. When I realized that, I told him I could create it in under 2 minutes, I think he got madder. Oh well..piss off. Anyway, I've got 4 good ones for now which should do me for a while. Thanks again for all your help!
