I've been exposed to car talk enough to score well, but I can't help but think that the test is a bit...uhm, academic. Still, if people find themselves basically clueless about such stuff then they're lacking in a fundamental understanding of what's going on.
Eh, that sounds more negative than I intend, here's my point: people who don't know a thing about the inner workings of transmissions or the function of anti-swaybars can be turned into *incredibly* good drivers through good behind-the-wheel training. The kind of drivers who do the right thing in emergencies in a (literal) split-second and who never precipitate those emergencies by errors of their own.
