How do you all get dog hair out of the seats and carpet of your cars?!! I don't put dogs in my car, but we have 2 great danes and where ever I sit I pick up there dog hair, and then when I got in my car, their hair sticks to my seats! I try to vacuum it out, but it seems to get buried in the seats and carpet! Am I supposed to take a tweezer and pick each hair out seperate?! HELP!!!!!!

Meguiars Hair and Lint Extractor works for me. I've tried several methods, even a lint roller, and the Meg's tool works the best.

another option is too cover your hand in sticky tape (wide tape) which will grab it all and pull it out. Strong stuff is good i used to do it before I had leather seats!

I have some experience in this area as I have a client that is too thick headed to keep her dog out of her cars! I have done several interior details for her, but she rather pay me than not bring her golden retrever everywhere she goes. Either using a interior brush and combing it out or using a small extension piece off my 6.5hp shopvac works every time. The problem you run into is when the hair get caught in the carpet fibers.

All of the above work well...

However, I find the best item for me is a comb made of black rubber with thick bristles. I use it to comb up most of the dog hair & rubbish & then vacuum away. Works really well on those stubborn little hairs attached to carpet...

I bought it a few years ago, but can't recall the name or brand. I remember it had a blue header card...

bye.

Wow, finally a question I feel comfortable answering!

We have two dogs too, a fawn male Dane, and a female Saint Bernard. I have found the meguiares brush works best for the Bernard hair, but Dane hair is short and coarse, and is a huge pain to get out.

I went to the pet store (after exhausting every other option) and bought a small short bristle grooming brush... black rough bristles, im sure you know the kind, and it works like an absolute charm. It also worked on the hair from my old dog, a German Shorthaired pointer, which had similar hair to the Dane.

Sometimes this wont pull it ALL out, but it loosens it enough to get the vaccuum in there and suck the rest of it out.

Hope this helped :)

this works very well: Find some vinyl/latex gloves, the kind doctors wear. Use a spray bottle of water to mist the glove; rub your misted glove on the hair into a pile and vacuum up.

No worries mate.

And there are those "pet hair sponges" too, they seem to work OK.

I dunno about people being "thick headed" when they let their dogs in their vehicles though ;) Over the last twenty-some years my dogs have ridden in every car of mine (except the XJS), including the really good ones. I value my dogs' company a *lot* more than my vehicles, not that it's an either/or situation.

Thanks everyone for all your responses!!! I'll have to try them all and see what works best!

Now I can get all that crappy hair out of my car!! THANKS!! :goodjob

DodgeGirl940, both of your dogs live in the house?! In our house, you can't go ANYWHERE without getting dog hair on your clothes, and wearing black is the WORST!!!! ahhhhh

Accumulator, Where in NE, ohio you live?! I live in North Royalton.

AmericanMuscle- I'm well south of you, NE Ohio is sorta a relative term I guess.

Both our dogs live in the house too..not as bad as it used to be, we previously had two "coaty" German Shepherds :soscared: The people who bought that house will be finding dog hair forever.

I've never really had too much of an issue with dog hair in my car. We have a black lab puppy so I get a little bit on my shoes and onto the carpet of my car but it's short hair so I can usually get it vaccumed up. I work at a dealership as a porter and we had to "detail" (I laugh when they say detail) a VW someone had traded in. After some guy spent an hour vacuming it and accomplishing nothing I just grabbed some tape and picked it all up. It's cheap, easy, effective, and fast.

Yes, they both live in the house. And they both sleep on the bed, and they are both allowed on the sofa.... etc etc etc...lol. They are my babies (and they are extremely spoiled) :)

The Saint Bernard is a rough coat (long hair) so you would *think* her hair would be worse, but it actually isnt. The Dane's hair is MUCH harder to get off clothes and off the furniture than hers is.
