How Do I Get Shoe Polish Scuffs Off Plastic?

Hello all, I am brand new to the board. This is my first post.

My girlfriend has a 2007 BMW 328i with a beige interior. Her shoes have left scuff marks on the plastic on the lower door panel. Is there a product, or procedure that will remove them without damaging the plastic?

Thanks,

Jeff

Removing shoe scuffs can be a pain in the rear. I have never had much luck using a car wash. After washing the car I generally try clay. That will generally remove some of the scuff but often leaves some behind. In those cases I have to use a little polish and just have to reapply my LSP where I used the polish.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and APC.

All Purpose Cleaner

Just to add to kb2ehj's post. An All Purpose Cleaner is good to use when car wash solution is just not strong enough. Just keep in mind anywhere you use APC, it will remove your wax or sealant so you will need to reapply it to that spot.

Be a little careful with the Magic Eraser, it works because it's abrasive and you don't want to overdo abrasion on some plastics.

I was thinking that I'd try a Plastic Polish first, IIRC, both Meguiar's and Griot's sell 'em.

Thanks everyone for the help, the scuff marks are now off. A pencil eraser and some citrus based cleaner did the job.

I have great (and easy) success with Simple Green

I have used S.G. on scuff marks, with the Mr. clean Magic Eraser as well with great results. I've used the S.G. on upholstery and carpet with the same great results.

You can get knock off magic erasers if you look around. Ebay is a good place to pick them up.

ADS carries a generic Magic Eraser-like material. Much milder as far as marring but still effective.
