High Mileage Acura Legend + Poorboys

Six-Speeder
I took my Legend coupe in to my brother's auto accessory shop after hours and gave it a little TLC.

The Poorboys Natty's paste was was applied and removed by hand. The car's paint is all original "desert mist" from 1994. Clear coat is fading on the roof and hood, and the front end has small chips consistent with mileage, but for a quarter of a million miles and 13 years old, it cleans up pretty well.

Current mileage on the car:

Just a few of the goodies I use on it:

Next time I'm putting it up on the lift to scrub and detail the entire undercarriage.

PS, Hi 91LSMAN! Thanks for recommending these forums to me ;). Legend owners unite, lol.

Thanks Pat. Nobody can compete with your shine, but we can all try! I'm a bit ashamed to say the only time the car has been buffed was when you did it in 2005. I really really need to get my hands on a PC.

Believe me. You can compete. That's why you won those awards that day. LOL

Holy cow! Great work! That car is in great shape! Talk about a nice shop also!

Thanks too! I'm very meticulous about the car, from a detailing perspective as well as a maintenance perspective. I bought it from the original owner in 2003 when it had about 95,000 miles on it. Needless to say, it's been subjected to mostly highway miles throughout my ownership. My father and I even drove the car to Fairbanks, Alaska and back in May -- and 8,000 mile round-trip from Phoenix. I keep an Excel spreadsheet of all maintenance performed.

As far as the shop is concerned, yes, it's a fun place to hang out. My brother specializes in all manner of automotive accessories but deals mostly in wheels and tires, DVD systems, and aftermarket leather installations. It's a great connection to have in the family.

Dude, 4100+ miles in 7 days!!!!! Where did you go? Nice documentation, BTW, Gives me some ideas for my 2006 Mustang. Good job in keeping it up also!!

Haha, you noticed.

That was just recently. I drove from Phoenix, Arizona to Atlanta, Georgia and back in a weekend (Thursday to Monday). I was worried about going 4k+ on an oil change (it's the first time I've done that) but I was assured it would be okay. I also had about a 10,000 mile month earlier this year.

Definitely start building a spreadsheet for your new Stang. Yeah, it's OCD but it is worth it for the peace of mind it provides.

My accord just rolled over 100,000k yesterday. its only 3 years old too :P i want a million mile accord

Wow...I guess you could say that spreadsheet inspired me...lol. I was already tracking my mpg (L/100km for us in Canada), and really I just needed a kick in the @$$ to make another file for maintenance/parts history. I actually liked your layout enough I basically set mine up the exact same way...lol.

Atleast in my case it was pretty easy...as my car is still under a year old.

You'll get there! I know of an Accord that's already reached that milestone. I'll have to see if I can find the link to the article.

Glad I could be of a little inspiration! Keep up the work on the spreadsheet and you'll be glad you did. Hang on to every receipt you get, too! And yeah, you've got it easy with only one year's worth of paperwork to keep track of :).

nice ride man it looks great!

here's one of my '92's. this one's got 204k
